The Wizards should be absolutely mortified and embarrassed lmao

  2. JezusJazzDancer

That Sexton dunk after the clock expired was sick

If we keep Clarkson next season, he better play like this in games where we’d need the wins for a playoff appearance. I’m a tanking fan, but at least our schedule is still difficult, and Clarkson had a great game increasing his trade value, so it balances out

  4. Mods had too much fun writing this title 🤣🤣

    GAME NOTES:

I apologize for my absence, I had a work trip and wasn’t able to catch any games the last week/week and half.

Firstly, let’s talk about this [absurd double alley-oop.](https://x.com/utahjazz/status/1764838182817046945?s=20) The concentration from Keyonte to receive the pass, see that Sexton is calling for another alley-oop, and throw it off the backboard right to Sexton is insane. This was one of the best plays of the season, and I had to give it the flowers it deserved.

Jordan Clarkson had a really great game. He had 20 points at half time, and was a big reason we were down by just 1 at the half. He finished with 38 points on 13-26 shooting, 4-9 from 3, 8-9 from the line, 10 rebounds (2 offensive), 7 assists, 1 steal, and just 1 turnover. He was a team high +21 in his 36 minutes. His one steal led to a [fastbreak layup](https://x.com/UtahJazzClips/status/1764847653181898757?s=20) which looked nice. Although he isn’t the best defender, anytime he is able to read the offense and pick off a pass is great. Clarkson absolutely came alive down the stretch of the game, [playing the 1-2 with Sexton.](https://x.com/utahjazz/status/1764867100823490767?s=20) Both of them playing off of each other to get open looks and put the Wizards away. [Look at this move. Incredible.](https://x.com/MintSports/status/1764865608733090293?s=20) [This and-1 really sealed the deal tonight.](https://x.com/OOSSports/status/1764870128330490296?s=20) He and Sexton scored 17 straight points in the fourth for us. He also broke a Utah Jazz 33 year old record of most games with 30+ points off the bench tonight.

Sexton had a pretty good game too, and a solid third quarter. 29 points on 11-19 shooting, 4-7 from 3, 3-3 from the line, 3 rebounds (2 offensive), 7 assists, 2 steals, and just 1 turnover in 27 minutes. One thing that he has really improved on this season has been reading what the defense gives him, and making some tough shots. [Here’s a good example,](https://x.com/UtahJazzClips/status/1764863474054599116?s=20) and [here’s a tough, tough look in the second quarter.](https://x.com/UtahJazzClips/status/1764850891079737451?s=20) He had 8 straight points in the fourth which helped pull us ahead with less than 5 minutes remaining. We are so lucky that the Cavs traded us both him and Lauri for Don lol. He and Clarkson literally closed this game out and played off of each other so well. Great game for those 2. [He had this insane dunk after the game ended, but I had to showcase it here.](https://x.com/WorldWideWob/status/1764868674979238352?s=20)

John Collins actually played a really good night too, on both ends of the floor. 17 points on 7-11 shooting, 1-2 from 3, 15 rebounds (3 offensive), 1 assist, and 6 big blocks. [Here’s one of his blocks](https://x.com/UtahJazzClips/status/1764838104215474575?s=20), and [here’s a big OREB and monster slam.](https://x.com/utahjazz/status/1764856782151884950?s=20). He also started the game off [with a lob,](https://x.com/JazzNationCP/status/1764837817190846490?s=20) which is always good to see. Lastly, he had a [monster block](https://x.com/bballispoetry/status/1764866835256664470?s=20) with 2:30 left in the game that kept our lead at 6. Fun fact, he is the first jazz man since Rudy Gobert to have a 15 point, 15 rebound, and 5 block game.

Keyonte played just 6 minutes, didn’t make a bucket, and had just 1 rebound, and 1 assist, although that one assist was a beauty. He left the game due to illness.

Taylor Hendricks started off great, 3-3 shooting, 2-2 from 3, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, but 3 fouls in 14 minutes. He left the game and didn’t return due to a toe injury, but he looked good offensively tonight. [He has a confident shot which is something that he didn’t have earlier in the season.](https://x.com/JazzLead/status/1764848151390007662?s=20)

Luka Samanic got the start instead of Lauri, and had 5 points on 2-9 shooting, 1-5 from 3, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks in 23 minutes. His major highlight was probably the opening play alley-oop to John Collins I showed before. He played great defense in his minutes though, and filled in nicely next to Hendricks and Collins in the starting lineup.

Sensabaugh played 21 minutes tonight, which I think is his high for this season. 7 points on 3-9 shooting, 1-5 from 3, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 turnover. [This move was nasty](https://x.com/JazzLead/status/1764860196151611694?s=20), and was his only memorable highlight tonight. I love seeing this kid play, hopefully he continues getting more and more minutes.

Kris Dunn filled up the stat sheet in his 27 minutes, 4 points on 2-5 shooting, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, but 3 turnovers tonight. He was an overall positive player, and I still believe is the X-Factor to this team. I love his minutes.

THT had 15 minutes, had 9 points on 4-9 shooting, 1-3 from 3, 3 assists, and 1 rebound. He had a really [nice layup to close the first quarter](https://x.com/NBAArabic/status/1764861417541292171?s=20), but that’s the only highlight from him tonight in my eyes. But, for every 1 good play, there’s 2 bad one’s, and he had his fair share tonight.

Juzang had 20 minutes, and contributed well. His on ball defense was pretty good, although he didn’t get a counting stat tonight on that end. 10 points on 4-8 shooting, 2-5 from 3, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and just 1 foul.

Overall a very good game. We were letting the Wizards have their way with us the first half, and our defense stepped up majorly in the second half to secure the win. Credit to JC, Sexton, and the other JC.

As a team, 29 assists on 49 shots isn’t bad. We rebounded like crazy, outrebounding Washington 51 to 43, really making our presence known defensively where we had 40 defensive rebounds. We had 6 steals, but also a whopping 9 blocks. John Collins led the way in that front. Lastly, we had 60 points in the paint to Washington’s 42, but only had 14 fast break points, while Washington had 33. That was what allowed Washington to score 75 in the first half.

    28-34!

Welp. They are the Lizards for a reason I guess.

Following up my comment in the game thread.

So the Wizards get sent to the G-league now right?

Like God wanted them to win this game and they still lost.

I find it funny that the NBA game thread had 7 comments.

  9. As a JC fan, this one of his best game for a long time after his triple-double. Feeling happy how him and Sexton talks a lot on the floor and how JC being their floor general running the play in offense and defense, that his value as a veteran in the team. Feeling sad that this must be their last team playing together, I’m happy for Sexton for finally showing his true value, worth and why hes #1 piece from the Don’s trade with the Cavs.
