MPJ Proud of Relationship Built with Jokic & Murray on the Court

Mike do you feel like you guys are you talked about wanting to build Championship habits play the right way coming out of the break obviously you guys are winning but do you feel like that’s been the process yeah we’re building Championship habits for sure um really focused you know offensively and

Defensively I feel like for the most part we’ve been pretty locked in I mean obviously you’re playing against NBA teams NBA players we’ll we’ll have some stretches out there where they make us look bad or whatever but overall I think we’re doing what we need to do Justin

Man Justin’s my guy um you know he he’s older but he doesn’t it doesn’t feel like he has such a young energy and just um the positivity he brings the um selflessness you know a guy who just another example of a vet who stays ready regardless if he’s playing or not um

He’s become a good friend of mine um yeah I mean he’s a great guy I love I love did you do anything different like over the allar break to get you in a good space to be able to personally have the run like you have the past six games

Um n nothing I just needed to get some sun I was like locked in my my uh like apartment like without without seeing the Sun for a long time and I think that can like boost your mood so I got some sun and um just I think I just been

Rejuvenated to be honest did the rest help you played so many games this year I know it’s been a priority probably I mean I don’t like when they the told me I could take a game off or whatever and I I’ve never really believed that rest

Really like helps that much if you don’t you’re not injured but um it probably it probably that was another thing to probably just rejuvenated me uh mentally more than anything right Justin was just saying what he’s like about your game is that you’ve had like very little wasted

Energy I think is what he said you just gotten your spots well um how would you evaluate this recent six game stretch for you I mean yeah not every game has been amazing for me I think I uh struggled a little bit in um um Golden State um but overall yeah my shots

Feeling good I’m feeling pretty energetic and uh we’re just playing good basketball as a whole so I’m definitely trying to be efficient and uh just be locked in and be focused in this last stretch and make a push for being the highest SE highest seed we can be hey

Michael um coach said you guys can get to another gear still despite having one six coming out in the break what does that other gear look like in your mind uh yeah um you know as we as we get ready for the playoffs we closing in on

On on the playoffs I think it’s just putting full 48 minutes together when we get up on teams try to play the same way try to you know push that 10 lead to a 20-point lead and really uh be dominant I’m going into the playoffs and feeling really good about ourselves a couple

Plays in that LA game where Jamal found you kind of in a perfect position on the three-point L how has your relationship and connection with him grown kind of through the years yeah um I mean you know him and him and Nico were here before me obviously I think

Two or three years before me so um obviously they have developed a chemistry and then you know bringing me into the mix I think it just took time for both of them ni and Jamal to not only trust me but really like seek to find me and realize you know the the

Weapon I can be out there like they want me to shoot the B they’re looking for me so I think that’s just comes time you guys look like you’re having fun right now for this winning streak is that accurate and do you care about that at the stretch of the season oh yeah

Having fun definitely just makes the the work environment better makes the game go better guys are happy to each other um honestly I think you know as as much as the All-Star break is needed once you get that out of the way and there’s no light really at the end of the tunnel

And you just know you have games I think it just makes you lock in a little more and not look forward to any type of break you know now we’re trying to go all the way to J or whatever that is I think we’ve asked you this question

Before but your offensive game it feels like it’s expanded you’ve been able to show a little bit more as of late do you have a favorite spot or a favorite mat to get to on the floor right now um I would say I love um I mean lately I’ve been

Loving to get to that little push shot the little floater um I feel like that’s been a good shot for me but I always love hitting for the reason I think the left side the left wing left corner is pretty automatic I got to get better on

The right side of the Court um I don’t know why that is Be Love hitting Dre and I love the floater it

  1. An intelligent and quite articulate guy, I like the way he explained his relationship with Jamal & Jokic, he was on point! The fact that MPJ has regained confidence in his body and abilities will raise the game of the Nuggets to a special level of lethality!

  2. I love this MPJ. His transition from his rookie year to now is honestly impressive, and should be a blueprint for guys around the league on how to be mentally mature on a growing / developing team. As much as the Nuggets success comes from Jokic and Jamal (and now AG), MPJ is a very key component to that success as well
