I hate ESPN more by the day. They keep pushing narratives that are utterly crap and try to get every star into major cities. Screw ESPN. Report *facts* or give opinions that are actually reasonable.

  2. Naive-Air2866

Out of All the sports i follow nba media is 100% the absolute worst not even close lol

  3. Ramona Shelburne is fucking terrible. She has always cared mostly about the drama side of things and offers nothing substantive when it comes to actual basketball analysis. ESPN is truly toxic if you’re a fan of a team that isn’t one of the 5-7 big/glamor markets.

  4. Reboot-Bloody-Roar

Not the same sport but they seem hell bent on wanting Justing JEfferson out of MN (I’m sure it’s similar for ANT) Like not everything is LA, BOS, MIA or NYC. Frustrating because JJ seems super happy in MN he just wants to know what’s up at QB before signing long term.

  5. Ok_Assumption5734

Man, if ESPN was this garbage, they probably would have gotten Popp replaced with Doc back in the day

  6. Lonely_Presentation8

Imagine if we yelled at every team to instantly win a chip the second they draft young talent. must mean okc mavs and celtics are all complete failures since they havent won yet despite their young stars. hell why hasnt ant won a chip yet hes already 22

  7. ESPN wins as soon as this gets posted, then wins some more as people rage about their takes in the comments. This type of post is the lowest hanging fruit there is.

  8. CallMeKerm

ESPN is such a cancer. I accidentally put on the OKC/Phoenix game on too early the other night and overheard Kendrick Perkins say something along these lines. Bob Myers laughed it off.

Fortunately for the Spurs and their fans Wemby seems to be the type of person that’s able to see through this bullshit.

  9. efernand1

They’ll be suggesting DLO and Hachimura for Wemby by next season.

  10. PeelADomenBail

“I TEOL YOU WUTT MUHLEEKAH, VICTUH WEMBIMBYABA NEEDA GET DA HEOLL ON OUTTA SAYN AYNTONIA BEFO HE WASTE HIZZ CUHREEYA”

    -Big Perc or whatever

  11. Less than a season and they’re talking about him running out of patience. That segment was infuriating to watch. Other sports don’t have this type of media discourse.

  12. TheWestRemembers

For anyone who didn’t read. They said “A YEAR MAX” is what Wemby, who by all means is obsessed with the Spurs and loves the organization, will give them to ‘figure out’ their core. CTESPN take.

  13. “Narrative” has to be the most overused word on this site

  14. theyoloGod

Let’s say they’re right and he decides the spurs aren’t doing enough in the next year or so so.

Do they really think the spurs are going to just say okay well he’s not happy let’s trade him when he’s on his rookie deal plus will be a RFA afterwards. As if they’d give up on that kind of prospect. What’s he’s going to do? Retire? As if

  15. ColtCallahan

It’s hilarious too because he definitely isn’t talking to them. Windhorst travelled all the way over to Paris to woo him and Wemby has not even acknowledged he exists since.

  16. yasmiester

Ain’t no way we’re doing this not even one year into his career 😭

  17. TheItalianStallion44

Now spurs know how these bullshit Trae rumors feel

  18. InsertDev

Yes, blow draft capital to be relevant for a few years and then Victor leaves because we put ourselves in a hole.

These people are so dumb lol

  19. LogicisGone

Hey, if it means one less news cycle of *Luka to the Lakers*,  I’m good with it. 👍

  20. kamekaze1024

The cultural difference between the NBA and NFL is insane. I legit couldn’t imagine if Justin Jefferson had the amazing rookie season he did and reporters Kelly trying to spin narratives of him going to the Rams or Jets just because he was on a small market team.

It’s even crazy because San Antonio isn’t even a small market, what the fuck do they want??

  21. GuyWithNoSwagger

Yea because the fucking SPURS are known to ruin big men drafted first overall

  22. trothwell55

Let me guess, he is rumored to be interested in the Knicks, Lakers and Heat?

  23. Wickerfacetaken

ESPN is trash drama journalism for househusbands and knuckledraggers

    Don’t pay them attention

  24. DontTouchIt17

Danny speaking some truth and gets blown off. I mean what would he know about the Spurs organization anyway. And them breaking the bank for lillard, a 33 year old guard, to pair with their then 19 year old cornerstone is ridiculous. These guys are just idiots man I have all the faith in the world Pop is gonna give wemby all the tools to succeed. I don’t want to be outraged by this since that’s exactly what they’re going for but I just can’t help myself.

  25. NBA media is awful. Especially ESPN. They treat it as a soap opera and care about narratives and storylines than actual ball being played. Give me more JJ Redick and Tim Legler and less Kendrick Perkins and Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst. I want breakdown of plays and how one opponent is beating another through schemes, coaching and tactics. I want less player agenda pushing and more substantive analysis. Rant Over!

  26. SzegediSpagetiSzorny

It’s so bizarre. NFL lionizes places like Buffalo, KC, Green Bay. The NBA acts deeply offended that Milwaukee (a metro of 1.5 million) even exists.
