The question is…. Will we learn from this? I was amazed that we feel back into shooting 3s with no one rebounding for 9 minutes. Winning is more important than doing something that isn’t working this time. Even the final shot… We all knew it would be a Tatum iso… At least it was a two. But not fake the shit in mid air (as the double team came to contest) and pass to a rolling Porzingus? In the post game Tatum talked about not shooting earlier because he didn’t want to give the Cavs another shot. I think that’s always a mistake because you want the chance for the offensive rebound and put the pressure on the other team to score with one or two seconds left. We haven’t had many close games but in any of them have we called a timeout to call a play?
I’m not saying that was necessary last night but why can’t we ever dump the ball in to Porzingis in the paint… And have Kornet Tillman and Al crashing the boards.
I was also surprised that we kept letting the hot guy shoot from the same spot. Collapsing the defense to give him the open threes. Anyone who’s ever played the game knows that when you’re hot from your favorite spot you’re probably not going to miss for a while. That is what made rondo so good he knew where guys liked the ball and would get it to them there
