This is a pretty big development. The franchise is trying to cash in while the team is hot, and you can’t blame them. But a rep did make the mistake of saying that the team is trying to determine if New Orleans remains a “viable NBA market”. The rep said that Los Pelicanos are last in NBA for revenue currently. Last year they were 27th in revenue at $262M, which is only $4M than Memphis. Per the rep, it appears they may have fallen to last, as the rep specifically mention that this season they were behind Charlotte. The goal for 2025 is to raise the revenue to bottom 5, or at least they return to the former position in 2023.

You’ll see that they’re ahead of 2 teams not actively tanking (Pacers/Suns). Teams with larger markets are certainly going to be ahead. But teams like the Blazers, Jazz and Pistons are ahead on that list. Obviously teams skew the attendance numbers, because there might have been just a couple of times more than 17,000 people actually showed up and were in seats for games this season.
In sum, they are raising the prices to increase revenue. Floor tickets raised over 20%. Premium club seats over 25%. I would think the front office is betting on a playoff run to raise interest in season tickets. However, several people who are and have been season ticket holders for quite some time are relinquishing tickets as they are unaffordable. Importantly, the front office and ticket reps are fully aware that the economy cannot support this unilateral raise in prices. It will be quite interesting to see how the Gulf South reacts to either committing to 3 years or incurring greater per game prices for 2024/25.

I renewed my upper bowl tix last month and, surprisingly, it stayed the same as last season’s pricing. My rep didn’t mention anything about a multi-year commitment.
Maybe this approach is for the higher priced lower bowl seats?
I renewed my full season upper bowl and my weekend package in the club last month and never heard anything about this, if there was an increase it wasn’t significant
The price tag for my lower bowl seats is a thirty percent increase over this season.
I’m a hornets season ticket holder (Pels remain my preferred team) and we had a massive increase on Ticket prices across the board. My lower bowl seats went up 30% each, corporate and club level seats are seeing more like 50% raise
