    Despite its title, the video didn’t exactly explain “how” Lebron became an elite 3 point shooter.

    The real and only answer is: Lebron spent countless hours in the gym getting up hundreds of thousands of shots to improve his three point shooting. Didn’t need a 9 minute video to explain that.

    Others on our team simply don’t put in the work in the gym during the offseason/offdays and therefore they’re not good 3 point shooters.

    But of course, this is the lakers subreddit so the popular thing is to either blame the fictional “lakers tax” or Darvin Ham on individual players poor 3 pt shooting, just like everything else that’s wrong with the lakers this season.

  2. MF just loose with it. 2013 he started to look way more relaxed and not jump as high. More fluid shot, still fades a lil on shots but not as much as before and less stiff. Like the first guy said countless hours and years of practice

    LeBron is my favorite player ever, but…

    **He has not really improved as a shooter.**

    **Instead, he’s the kind of player who is always adjusting his shot** (from season to season) to get it to work for a temporary amount of time:

    * Look carefully at the **up-and-down nature of his 3P% and FT%**: [https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01.html](https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01.html) .
    * **One of his main tools** to change the narrative about his shooting after a low-percentage stretch is to **lower the volume of his attempts** (and improve the quality of his attempts). In 22-23 and in 22-24 he made the same number of 3s per game (about 2.2). So **why is he shooting 40% this year, but only shot 32% last year? Well, he takes 1.5 fewers 3s this year.**

    lol @ “elite”

    he’s a wing that shoots 74% on free throws and 33.6% on midrange this season. an outlier season on 3s doesn’t mean he became an elite shooter. the vast majority of his career is dominated by below league average shooting from midrange and the 3
