  1. Brown did plenty that game, except make free throws.

Could have used a little more from someone else though, even just one wide open corner 3

  2. Great players are confident in their skills. That said, Jaylen on Jokic is an instant bucket.

    Shades of Kyrie wanting Giannis.

Brown is an infinitely better defender than Kyrie, but he ain’t doing anything with Jokic.

Dude might be confident… but this is delusional.

  5. And murray would High lob entry pass to joker every possession, and with no dribbles hed either take the post fade or spin off either side and make the hook shot I can respect the confidence but hes just bbq chicken on the floor

Why is he talking like that? I saw him in Rook’s interview couple of years back and he was speaking totally different lol? 🤔

There’s something to be said for throwing different looks at a guy like Jokic. Brown, Tatum, Jrue can all take turns in limited bursts.

In the end it’s not about stopping him so much as making him work harder and slowing him down enough that you can stay home on your guy and not help. It only takes a split second for Jokic to find that window as he kept doing w Gordon last night.

He’s saying he should have guarded Đoković and I’m fine with that.

Dont get me wrong i believe Brown to be an insanely good defender. No joke feels like he is underrated as a defender. That said Jokic would eat him alive.

He just aint built to guard a guy like Jokic.

  10. So he saw Jokic in the locker room? Or just got the feel during the game?

  11. IMO, the key to stopping Jokic lies more with the other player’s and their defense and rebounding. Jokic can score on anyone, but that alone isn’t why he kills you. You can’t let him drop 25+ and also drop 12+ assists. Bumping cutters, denying dribble handoffs, making his passing angles difficult, crashing the boards, are all things the teammates of the one defending Jokic need to do an excellent job of.

Keeping Jokic around 5/6 assists vs 10+ could be the difference.

There’s almost nothing you can do if Murray is feeling it at the same time though, and it’s why they’ll be the hardest out in a 7 game series. Murray can have modest nights, but if he goes off 2/7 games, the Nuggets are probably taking the series.

  12. Instead of guarding jokic.. just focus on hitting your free throws. let your teammates guard jokic. that’s their assignment.

Idk he means 1 on 1. I can’t remember how many possessions they got matched up 1 on 1 but he came as a help defender quite a few times especially down the stretch. I think that’s more so what he is talking about.

He may not be making much sense but JB got that dawg in em. He watched joker prance around with the dog treat all majestic like and just wants his chance to take the bone

  15. Last week, Brown said he weighed in at 240 lbs. The guy is an absolute unit. But, he ain’t stopping Jokic. But I applaud him saying the right thing and the competitor in him asking for the challenge.

had to check if this was /nbacirclejerk first

  17. PillsburyToasters

I agree he’s a monster, but to think you not guarding him enough was the reason he went off, then you’re sorely mistaken

  18. caworkaccount

Every time he doubled off Gordon to help on Jokic, AG got a highlight dunk lol
