It’s so funny because Arsenal fans have always kept whinging about how cheap Kroenke is for a long time. I still remember when they sold their best player, Robin Van Persie, to Manchester United, United going on to win the Premier League the following year.

While the ridiculously wealthy clubs Chelsea (owned by a Russian oligarch) and Man City (owned by Abu Dhabi-based royalty) were breaking the bank year after year Arsenal was developing youth and trying to find underrated gems every transfer window.

In basketball, it’s not like the Nuggets are acting like the Lakers. They developed their 2 best players and went ahead and got role players to maximize them and their championship window. Sure, they’re paying the luxury tax now but that’s normal: why wouldn’t they when they’re favored to not just go far in the playoffs but to win championships
