Toronto Raptors Media Availability | Pregame at Portland Trail Blazers | March 9, 2024
All right Gary I know that you’ve been back here in Portland a few times ever since you know you this is where you started but how does it feel to you know always come back here is this the type of game that you have circled on your
Calendar at all no I would really say circled on my calendar I would just say it’s always great to be back here it’s fun to be back here you know soon as you land off the plane I know how to get from everywhere around here without any navigation so just seeing landmarks and
Places I used to go eat or stay or even my apartment building I can see from the hotel room that we at now so it’s just little stuff like that be able to connect back when I was here obviously Portland has made a ton of changes since
You were here um what do you make of what you’re seeing from them um and you know former teammate Delano Banton he’s he’s been playing really well he had a good game last night most definitely yeah I seen him playing well he’s just getting super opportunity I’m also happy
You know for Chanty as well too to get this opportunity to try to Showcase what I can do with coaching obviously he’s had different players and different systems and different stuff going on a lot of changes and also uh seeing Anthony Simon step into the light he’s
Stepping into we was drafted together so for us to start our journey here to see him still here and still escalating and still you know proving and showing improv and it’s great to see and you know I’m all happy and support of him you had your season High uh last game
Against Phoenix what was working for you there that you feel like you know you want to bring into tonight’s game just being aggressive you know obviously certain guys is out so that’s going to put me in a certain space and opportunity to get certain shots to be
In certain actions to do certain things when guys aren’t here that’s not really the case so it’s just you know who’s here who’s not here again trying to show andove and helping help us win you know do anything I can help us win whether that’s knocking down shots getting
Defensive stops cheering guys on that type of thing and then last uh what do you want to like look out for for what Portland’s going to bring tonight I really just to play hard you know we kind of in the same boat where we just fighting to fight we fighting for Pride
We fighting to show what we trying to do we trying to show improve we trying to get better we’re all working on us you know what I’m saying as a organization we’re not really we’re worried about them but we’re more worried about what we’re doing focus on how we’re going to
Improve how we’re going to stay together how we’re going to take that next step and when it comes to closing games out or when it comes to pushing back you know down five down six making that over the hump to you know get the lead and finish it out thanks for watching the

It Takes A WHOLE Team To Win. Stay On Your Offender & Put Them In Jail By Guarding Them So Close That You Hear Their Moves Before They Do?
Gary Trent Jr is too disconnected with the team. He's gonna leave in free agency.
Gary going to drop his biggest game back in Portland
Let's go Trent!!!!!
also good to see Boucher being played last game, if the streak continued it would've been hard for me to watch the team 🙁
I liked what I saw from Boucher last game
oh and I 100% think Trent got fouled on a 3 point shot, and refs call way fouls way quicker for other players
and then after the no call on Trent, I think one of our players ran into I think Durant? which gave them a clear path foul or the other fast break foul or whatever
so the no call not only made us miss out on 3 free throws, but also kind of forced us to commit a bad foul
Let's go Raps!!!
I have seen GTJ receiving a lot of hate in the many different Raptors forums but if he leaves as a free agent you will see how much Toronto will miss his presence on the court. No matter if he's starting or coming off of the bench he doesn't have a bad word to say about it to reporters nor is there anything leaking out in the media. Just goes about doing his job as a true professional.
