Noah Clowney and Dariq Whitehead Compete at the NBA G League Showcase | Year 1
We’re out in Orlando Florida at the g-league Showcase jayen he was supposed to come with us to Orlando to play in the Showcase but with some injuries going on he stayed back and he’s playing with the main roster all this time we’ve been working to stay ready get ready and you know
He’s been staying ready we’re going to take a look at some of the young players that are going to star in this game about half of the first round draft picks from this past June’s draft have played in the g- league that includes RQ white head who is the 22nd overall pick
Out of Duke what do you if there’s one kind of thing you’re looking to showcase at the G League showcase um what would it be for me just to show that I’m a step closer to getting back to myself DQ white head he’s got great size and
Versatility his ability to get into the paint puts so much pressure on the rim he is a true problem D I like him in transition Whitehead claims the rebound and he’s Off to the Races think in transition he can really be a threat trying to get by
Watson soft touch off the heel and through with his ability to get to the rim his athleticism is tremendous and he’s also got great body control which translates well over to the next level when you’re going against a lot stronger [Applause] guys it’s been great to come out here

3 the biggest thing about Noah is you actually really have to watch him from beginning to end to really get to know who he is as a player you have to read his body language a little different he’s a bigger kid I think when he walks into a
Room he’s 610 but he has the personality of a 61 guard so he’s trying to figure out who he is on the court and off the court so that has been so fun to watch when you first meet Noah he’s could come off as a guy who’s you know
Shy or you know doesn’t talk as much but the past two months he’s talking a lot more he’s being very vocal on the court you know putting guys in the right spot and you know that just benefits the team we kind of need that back voice on the
Court and he’s been stepping up to that role and taking on that challenge so leading has been this this was my goal and you know I I’ve gotten better at it but it’s so many different ways you and Lead I’m learning and I think the best way for me is going to be
Able to lead by Example Bounty and one if I put in a bunch of effort on the court and you don’t and you playing next to me theard it’s going to look real back and versus if nobody’s putting in real effort you know I feel like leading by example is
One of the most effective ways and I feel like that’s my way to Lead Noah has been just constant energy on both ends of the floor plays Above the Rim attacks the rim hard crashes the glass hard he kind of reminds me of Claxton because Noah has a lot of those similar traits as well ly has been aggressive to start the

Coming in I know what kind of player he is I know what he capable of something that surprised me is I’m a better driver than I anticipated and to add on to that what I can work on is driving and being able to operate in small spaces extra pass Clowny I want my
Shooting to be more consistent it’s a lot I can work on on the defensive side I’m good but I feel like it’s a lot more I can improve on Clowney does have 18 to leave the that’s along with six boards whenever he’s you know locked in
And today was one of those days where you seen that Noah was locked in from the beginning the game you kind of know what kind of game it’s going to be you know most people say he’s an undersiz five but you know I didn’t see
