Happy for the Kid.
That video does not show what the caption says. Is there more to it?
Man i hope we get him in the draft. Hes the perfect big man for us
KF 😤
Awesome, but at the same time really weird how a great college player like Zach is no longer thought of as a top NBA prospect. Hopefully he finds a place in the NBA, but it’s more likely will have a great pro career in Europe.
Really highlights the shift: Euro prospects developed in pro-leagues, and one-and-done college prospects go to the NBA, while college grads go to Europe (or China, or wherever).
I thought once you turn pro you can’t go down to the ncaa again?
Oh I didn’t know Zach Edey’s mom is a 6’3 Chinese-Canadian Basketball player. His Dad is the relative shorty @ 5’8 and was a hockey player at the Canadian University level.
He’s not gonna be available by the time it gets to #31 but I think he’s a great pick in that range. He’s gonna be a totally solid backup C for bench units ~15 mins a game. He rebounds and protects the rim well, screens excellently, plays with a high IQ, dominates inside in mismatches, and most 2nd units will not be skilled enough to roast him in the high PnR.
Unfortunately that’s really his ceiling, but he will have an NBA career for 6-8 years I’d imagine.
Hopefully the post all-star game NBA officiating changes to allow more contact means he can have a notable NBA career.
