This guy is a far far FAR less annoying version of Chris Walder. So I will tolerate this.
I love Jontay, hope we keep him.
Jontays decent but no point in signing him til after the draft. If they draft a center jontay has no place here with olynyk and Poeltl already signed.
I wish he could play the 4. Still struggling to figure out his long term fit. He’s too undersized even tho he does a good job defending centers. Maybe with a 4 in the Mobley mould he’d be fine but he’s realistically a bench guy so how much team building are you gonna do.
Respect his game a lot but awkward combo of not that tall and not that fast
I have been shouting this guy’s praises every game he plays, man was 10 6 6 4blks and +7 today. He’s a real one.
Jontay’s a good backup big but let’s not forget it’s the Pistons. 3 yr minimum contract please not the usual Bobby bid against himself and give bigger contract than necessary
He’s definitely getting like a 3 or 4 year deal with some partial/non-guarantees on the later years. They could have just converted him this year but then they were limited to rest of this season + 1 more on a deal. In the offseason they can go up to 4 years.
I like him, but I’ve seen it quite a few times over the last few seasons where a player that is impressing during the tank gets a contract, and disappears into the abyss
