Is Alexandre Sarr Who The Toronto Raptors NEED In The NBA Draft?
I like many others have started looking towards the NBA draft as a Toronto Raptors fan so today we are going to talk about prospects and you’re the top of the draft that the Raptors can select before I fully get into things hello my name is JJ buckets usual drill just make
Sure you’re leaving a like on the video subscribe to the channel if you’re new here plus if you plan on doing any responsible sports betting in the near future just make sure to check out my link in the description below I’m going to leave a cautionary warning on this
Video we’ve all heard the talk it’s not a very good draft class and to some extent I agree it really is not the strongest class to some extent quite frankly this class reminds me a little bit of 2013 now for those of you that are old enough to remember living
Through the 2013 class it is not a good draft class and if that class teaches us anything the best player from that class which was Giannis for that draft class will come outside of the lottery that being said it is still worth looking at some of these top prospects and
Potentially envisioning what kind of fit and what kind of impact they could have in Toronto but again considering the quality of the class I don’t think it’s quite as bad as 2013 I don’t think it’s as bad as 2013 actually let me just say that off the bat both of any of these
Prospects that you’re realistically looking at to some extent you’re kind of talking yourself into liking so just keep that in mind the name that has consistently remained intriguing to me out of all the prospects near the top of this draft is Alexander SAR and there’s
A good amount of reason to like this guy and in particular like him for Toronto specifically so as far as the fit with the Raptors I think it’s easy to justify in the sense that you know if you were going in on this core of Emanuel quickley Scotty Barn RJ barretts and
Grady dick what’s missing from that a fiveman Alexander SAR is a fiveman now he’s a little slender and he’s going to need to fill out his frame to probably play the five consistently at the NBA level but that’s attainable I think for him you look at this guy though you look
At the Winks span you look at the mobility of this player and it is hard not to get excited just seeing some of the things that he can do early on in his NBA career I think sar’s real calling card so to speak speak in the
NBA is going to be yeah the capability as a rim protector albeit a somewhat overeager one um at times and I’ll kind of get to that but yes being a rim protector probably being a rim runner for a good point guard which I think he can play off of either Barnes or quickly
Probably fairly effectively going into the rim that should be his calling guard the Intrigue with Alexander SAR comes for a couple of reasons number one in the end like he’s shown potential flashes maybe not the biggest flashes but just enough flashes of a face up game to get you kind of excited about
You know potentially being able to create for himself in that regard as well on top of that he has potential as a stretch big which in modern NBA offenses anytime you’re fiveman can stretch the core at least a bit you’ll take that you’ll take that and now his
Percentage in the NBL right now isn’t the most impressive thing in the world I believe it’s 28.9% at the moment but with Alexander SAR he shoots a fairly decent stroke from free throws he’s shooting 71% and I really do generally like free throw shooting as a gauge for somebody’s
Shooting ability naturally he’s not a 80% shooter or anything the regard if he was I’d be even more confident about him developing a potential three-point stroke but even as a 71% free throw shooter you can Envision him developing that aspect of his game and at least having a respectable three-point shot
That’ll keep defenses honest and if he can do that as far as the fit with the Raptors I think it’s going to be pretty seamless to Envision him on this team now naturally that involves a lot of things really coming together for Alexander SAR but in theory in theory in
The best case scenario I think this guy probably has the highest ceiling of anybody in the draft and if you’re Toronto and let’s say you jump a couple of spots up to like two or three or something like that and he’s still on the board he’s probably worth the risk
Because his floor isn’t too bad as well like even if he doesn’t develop some of these extra aspects of his game which are really what would put him over the top as a prospect he’s still probably a pretty good contributor in a rotation and in a draft class that’s not build to
Be necessarily too strong you will you’ll take guys that have safe floors and I think with SAR he has a relatively safe floor I think the issues with him for me really come from you know maybe a little bit of over aggression defensively sometimes like he’s maybe a
Little overeager sometimes to be a rim protector and to really get blocks and I can leave him exposed but when he’s locked in when he’s dialed in he can play some really great defense so I think a good coach that can maybe clean up his Tendencies a little bit in that
Regard will go a long way and Darko rakovich had a tremendous track record at development uh from the Grizzlies again the main reason that he was brought over here and you can even look at some of the stuff that has been done with Grady dick this season how much
He’s come along from the beginning of the Season till now if you can get SAR developed properly that’s going to be very very exciting prospect for you so I like Alexander SAR I think filling out his frame is going to be Big Pun I guess unintentionally uh place
There uh filling out his frame is going to be huge for him potentially reaching a ceiling consistently you know knocking down perimeter shots I think will open up his offensive game a lot and if he can create for himself that’ll be a big separator in terms of the ceiling of
What he can be but even as a floor he’s got a relatively safe one if you’re Toronto and and the positional need is obviously kind of there to some extent obviously I don’t think there’s a glaring positional specifically positional need if you’re the Raptors but I think the five man is
Probably the closest to what you have and SAR fits that there’s a decent amount of reason to believe that should he be on the board and should the Raptors be in position to take him this is the guy that you probably take a swing on at the top of the draft so
That’s going to do for me today when it comes to this kind of stuff and when it to the draft and when it comes to in particularly this draft that isn’t maybe necessarily solidified in terms of like genuinely who the best players in the draft are there is a lot of room for
Interpretation there is a lot of room for disagreement and that is very naturally what the comment section down there is for so if there are any prospects that you like that you really like in particular with this video it’s focused around the top of the draft but
Even if you know you’re talking about like the middle of the draft with that potential Indiana pick and there’s somebody that you really love drop it in the comment section below I want to hear I love talking about the draft it’s probably one of my favorite things I
Really enjoy looking at young players and seeing how they could potentially take that game and apply it to the NBA it’s one of my favorite things so if you’ve got a good name for me that you really want me to take a look at maybe
Even do a full draft profile for drop it in the comment section below usual drill uh if you’re still watching thank you and also leave a like on the video it goes a long way and I really appreciate it besides for that if you’re new here and you enjoyed what you watched today
Subscribe to the channel if you didn’t enjoy what you watched today subscribe to the channel to keep telling me why you didn’t enjoy it uh other than that folks it’s been JJ buckets it’s been a pleasure and I will see everybody next time
The Toronto Raptors season is quickly approaching its end. With playoff aspirations out the window, it’s time to look ahead to the NBA Draft. The Raptors hold a good chance to keep their pick in this year’s draft. If they get lucky and the lottery balls bounce their way, who should this team select? Let’s start that discussion with arguably the most intriguing prospect, Alexandre Sarr of the Perth Wildcats.

Alex Saar is very raw and unpolished. If he’s picked top 3 fans will need to be patient and not run him out of town if he struggles. There are other big men we can focus on if we get into the top 3
Getting into the top 3 I would trade the pick for a young star player that can be paired with Scottie and the core . So we start deep play off runs as soon as next year
The only positive thing about this draft is quality potential big men, that's about it tbh.
He wont be avialbe at 5-6. I think he's a top 4 pick. If he gets paired with Wemby the league is on notice that its almost over
I like Kel'el Ware at the PF/C position
To get Sarr. You really need to tank the rest of the season and you also need some luck in the lottery.
Yes Sarr would be good. It is sad Christian K could not fill out some of that role.
I would like to get 2 Forwards a PF and a 3-d SF so you could move Scottie to SF to be point forward and RJ to SG
JAK and KO can hold down C for now but we do need to get a younger rim runner type C to give you some C diversity.
Sarr would be perfect but i think he could go number 1. He may be unattainable without some serious luck
Donovan Clingan
We’re not getting Sarr because we started tanking too late.. Masai will likely target someone like Nikola Topic who is Serbian and Darko likely has some kind of insight on him. Topic would love to come here and work with a coach that speaks his language, or I can see us targeting someone like Tidjane Salaun (The French Giannis). We know Masai went to France a few months ago and that was likely to see him for himself after reports from his scouts. After signing Kelly I’m not sure we draft a big that’s going to get any real playing time on the big club. I don’t think we go after Claxton with because he’s not coming here to be a 3rd stringer. I think Masai like’s Jakob more than some people think. He drafted him, Traded him only because he was getting a superstar in return, he overpaid to get him back in a trade, and then gave him a big multi year contract to keep him. We either draft a center with the Indiana pick, or someone like Zach Edey with our 2nd round pick and throw him on the 905 until Kelly’s contract in up. I’m not a fan of Zach Edey as a prospect but I think Ed Rogers having more say on Raptors board is why we’re seeing us target more Canadian’s and think that might factor into us taking a flyer on Edey.
Raptors need to draft the best players available with whatever picks they end up with in the 2024. I get a funny feeling with Larry T being Adam Silver's buddy that the Raps may just move up into the top 3 in the televised 2024 draft lottery draw. Teams that usually lose a top player(s) for whatever reasons have a history of moving up in the Lottery draw. The Cavs got 3 #1 overall picks in 4 seasons after losing LBJ. NO got the #1 overall pick after losing AD. Time will tell.
Stop drafting for position and draft best available talent. Outside of Jv who was the best centre we drafted?
