Mike Brown on Jalen Brunson: “Man, he’s a helluva player. I don’t know if—Steph maybe—we blitzed anybody as much as we did Jalen…& he still scored 42…Jalen shot 50% from the 3 & over 50% from the field, & we sent the double team at him every single time he came off the pick & roll in the 2nd half”

They rushed two on him from the tip
Brunson would have gone for 80 if they didn’t 😂
I can’t believe what’s happening; like, it’s surreal. I remember vividly dreading these west coast trips because they were auto Ls, and you stay up mad late to not sleep because you’re pissed off.
And this is why I don’t care what the media says about Brunson not being a 1A guy. He’s getting massive respect from other teams and he’s getting doubled constantly while still performing at borderline MVP level.
He’s the best player we’ve had since prime melo and if we make a deep run, I’ll say he’s more impactful.
It feels like a lot of people still sleep on JB too. Coaches around the league don’t, some in the media don’t but there’s still a lot of people who aren’t going to know what hit them come the playoffs. They’re like a 5 year old standing on a beach with nothing but a pail and shovel while a massive tidal wave called Jalen Brunson is coming.
All of these double teams will be great practice for the postseason because you know that’s what’s gonna be coming
Jalen BrunsHIM
Sure sounds like what a coach would say about a no question All-NBA player.
