This is the Hoop Collective raving about Victor, but again diving into an ESPN standby, “Do the Spurs need to win now with Victor?” I really respect Windhorst but the fact that he’s still on this topic is really disappointing.

There’s no point in entertaining anything ESPN has to say about Victor or the Spurs. Forget about playing it close to the vest, nobody sitting at the poker table can confirm seeing PaTFO even look at the hand. ESPNs talking heads and insiders don’t know anymore than the fans tuning in.

Good Lord I can see why the Mavs team hate that Botemps dude. Providing no insight or inside info. Just a circle of strongly stating “they need to do something now!”. Gotta love comparing the spurs FO situation to the Kerr era warriors situation… Because the warriors had a plan and got KD to help Steph, Klay, & Dray because they saw something special in them. Wow. Didn’t realize they planned that. Thanks for that secret info.

I liked it better when they ignored SA. The only upside I see to these clowns talking like this is maybe it trickles down to agents pushing this clients to come to SA. Unlikely but that’s my hope

It’s ESPN. They don’t do sports. They do stories. OP you should feel bad for giving them engagement thus encouraging the shitty journalism.

ESPN’s trying to manifest Victor to a competitor in a larger market ASAP because he’s already the most viewed player on social media after Steph and LeBron. More viewers and more $$$ for ESPN if he ended up on like, the Knicks or something.
As long as you don’t take it seriously, it’s funny watching them squirm.

It’s an interesting discussion about Victor leaving because the Spurs have usually had team first superstars. With Victor, this is the first “me-first” player. Nothing wrong with that, Jordan, LeBron, Kobe, all had that mentality, but it’s different than the Spurs are used to.
I did think Windys point about how the spurs don’t make big trades was kinda irrelevant too. Nobody does anything until the first time that they do. The Spurs rarely had a draft pick surplus in previous years; they do now. This is unchartered territory in many ways

Really didn’t appreciate our rep not commenting on Victors patience maybe I missed it tho. Espn will forever use the stair analogy. I get that maybe we can’t tank because Victor will just elevate us so much tho.

Enough with the rebuild talk. We get Derrick White back and build the rest through the draft.

Rebuild is complete.
