POSTGAME REACTION: Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers, 3/18/24.

Uh I mean there were a lot of different things um you know defensively after that first quarter I thought we did a lot of really good things on the road um definitely enough things from a energy um toughness standpoint to put ourselves in a position to win um yeah

There was a Long offensive rebound I don’t think it was a miscue I think we were trying to to crash a little bit of a long rebound there Kyle did hit a big you know three and the Up and Under you know for sure um but we we struggled to

Score we did have some uh looks at you know at that point it becomes makeer miss you have to make those uh you know to make the full comeback um and we weren’t able to do that I thought we had a couple clean looks um our guys really

Wanted you know obviously to get this game um um we just weren’t able to get it done and uh you know we had some some tough possessions offensively either getting blocked or you know um missing um you know moments or missing some plays uh we’ll just have to get to work on that

And um and improve uh on that side of the floor but uh yeah it’s disappointing but um that’s not from an effort uh standpoint our guys laid it out there you could see basically in the full court press you know from after this first six minutes of the game we were in

It for for the rest of the game um I know dunan left early because of the back injury but what did they do to limit his three-o opportunities before that and do you have any more on his back yeah you know I mean it was just an

Unfortunate thing that’s why you have to just you you absolutely love Duncan he couldn’t move coming into the game you know um just the workload everything last night I don’t know the flight or whatever um he just he just couldn’t move but uh you know he’s a competitor and he was like whatever

Whatever we need I’ll I’ll be out there um and you know it was tough I mean they were playing him physical Batum was was uh being really physical on his off ball movement and anybody that’s had back you know spasms if you can’t move and cut and uh you know feel like

You can be yourself it’s just it’s it’s a tough thing to manage and and he’s a big part of our offense you know as as we know um just the the the space the shooting the U the movement the overreactions uh and even when he was in

There it was it was a fraction of what he can normally do just in terms of how he can move defenses around bam did not get a shot in the fourth quarter how why um I don’t know um you know I think we had some decisions you know in the paint

Uh you know they were packing the paint like crazy um almost daring us to shoot from the three-point line um we had to to shoot some of those just to keep them honest post UPS there wasn’t really anywhere to go elbow catches or any kind of pick and

Roll throw it back to them there wasn’t anywhere to go because they had they were sending multiple defenders in into the paint um I think if we could have knocked down a couple more I think that would have opened things up um and even he was contributing to that spacing you

Know they were very committed to taking away the pain and he was able to knock down a couple threes Thomas knocked down a three and uh that wasn’t by accident that that was what was open you know for large parts of the game how cost it with

Those turnovers at the start of the second half where they kind of broke the game open there before you guys made the comeb back those weren’t great but that’s what they do and uh we still brought it all the way back you know so you know that that game was in the

Balance it was there you know to take either way and um you know I thought we we had enough defense and stops going down the stretch you know to put ourselves in a better position to win this game um but our offense was pretty uneven you know in

That second half not just the turnover weren’t really as much of an issue um in that fourth quarter but um you know making the right play and then and then when we did generate you know shots we weren’t able to knock those down

  1. Credit Philly, but there were a lot of bullshit no calls throughout the game that took Miami out of their rhythm.

  2. Coach IS being EXTREMELY generous with COMPLIMENTING the 76ERS DEFENSE on Bam in the 4TH. Yes, the 76ERS played some GOOD D, BUT I counted 6 to 8 POST-UP opportunities IN the 4TH that Bam HAD in WHICH our GUARDS did NOT get Bam the BALL.
