[LeBron James] “I didn’t win my first one until I was 28. We have a lot of expectations on JT, but he’s experienced a lot of winning in his career so far… four Conference Finals and a Finals appearance before the age of 26 is elite.”

LeBron speaking from experience there getting blown out by the Spurs, which ended up being a dynastic team in and of itself. It’s good perspective because the appearances in the playoffs give people the idea that JB/JT are like at the same career stage as Kawhi/PG, which just isn’t true, they’re 26/27, which just tells everyone that they have another 5-7 years of pure peak performance before their games have to adjust.
This is the year though, and they need to make it happen. At the very max they have until next year before the hard decisions have to be made.

I think it’s entirely possible that Tatum never wins an MVP in his career but also goes down as the most successful player of this decade.

Been saying something similar for the past couple of years. JT’s team success at such a young age is amazing, even more so when you consider he has been the best guy on a team that’s been to the conference finals 4 times, and he isn’t even 26 yet. Jordan didn’t win one until he was 26, and there is hardly any (iif there are any) stars who have won a title as the best guy on their team before the age of 26.
His success from this season on, is what will cement his legacy as being one of those top guys at the forward position all-time, or if he will have a Paul George like career.

Imagine what he’ll do in 7 years when he’s actually 26

Difference is jt been on a stacked boston team his whole career. He also stunk it up in the finals so now no one appreciates his great reg season games.
