This play we’re going to slow it down the thing difference between Jaylen green and previous years and this year Jaylen Green’s in much better position as you see here he’s not overc committing which he’s done in the past and also he’s not reaching which he’s

Also done in the past that’s got him in foul trouble a lot also he’s giving the effort that he doesn’t also didn’t necessarily always give in the first couple of seasons and also you see here he stays in position he doesn’t foul he doesn’t f for any pump fakes and he goes

Straight up and gets the block that’s the type of defense that you haven’t been able to see from Jaylen Green in the past and that’s something that definitely has stood out in these last you know several weeks but all season he’s played really good defense compared

To where he was the first couple of years in his second play you’re going to see him going against Darius scarland one of the fastest players in the league one of the best players are getting to the rim and again the difference between Jaylen green last year and this year is big as

You see again he’s able to stay in position not reach and instead of going up against somebody that’s trying to bully him this time he’s going against somebody who’s trying to use their speed to get by him Jaylen green uh again does not reach he’s staying in front of him

And as you see he’s really focused in on Darius Garland he’s not uh letting him drive by him even though Darius Garland is one of the fastest player in the league he has good foot movement good lateral movement his base is good he’s not standing too straight up to where

Darus gar able to drive right by him and again he doesn’t reach he doesn’t foul and as you see you know with him his ability to be able to stay in front of his player that gives his teammates a chance also to be in good position because they don’t have to

Overcompensate for Jaylen green getting beat to the basket and that’s something that we’ve seen a lot of the previous two seasons but this season we have not seen that as much he doesn’t get beat on back door Cuts as much he he doesn’t have lack um efforts on the defensive

End as you see in these two plays against Cleveland that definitely stood out and just hadn’t been against Cleveland he’s been doing this all season but these two plays really stood out because they’re two different type of players and in both instance you see Jaylen green um showing that he does

Have the defensive skills to be a good defensive player he may never be an all NBA Defensive type of player but he can be a plus Defender and if he can continue to improve on the offensive end now you’re seeing those two things come together so again I want to show these

Two players there’s two different offensive styles of players going up against Jaylen green and in both instance Jaylen green showed that he can be a plus Defender it comes down to consistency with jayen green uh just not on the offensive end but on the defensive end and as you see when he

Puts all together he can be a more complete player want to finish the video off by showing a clip earlier when I actually asked uh a coach about Jaylen Green’s improved defense and taking on that challenge and this is something like I said that’s been happening all season

That’s the biggest thing is having that competitive nature and the effort on that side and then you know those rotations and schematics that we want him to get down and be better at but the first part is taking that challenge and not just being labeled on one side and

So you think I think he’s done that better coming out all St break uh guarding but then obviously everybody knows the scoring so doubly as well if he does if he’s doing both and not giving up one on on the defense uh just I mean my main focus is just defense

It’s really locking in on um matchups and you know the things we go over in shoot around um I’m going to be able to score the ball I’m going to be able to have the opportunity so uh it’s just a little things that keep me involved when
