finally got to watch the 2023/24 Knicks in person at the Chase center yesterday, what an amazing performance by a short handed team. I went to the game last November when the team was still gelling, and it was night and day. here are some observations
Brunsons change of direction is insane. watching from side to side view on tv its hard to tell how violent his crossovers are. he’s freakin strong too, bullying smaller guards all night. his midrange game is so sweet too. this is even when the dubs tried to contain Brunson with Draymond too.
deuce defense ws amazing. I’m used to watching steph splash everything but deuce stuck with steph all game long. not only that he hit a crazy amount of 3s, and it was amazing to witness. I almost couldn’t believe what I was watching
Hart is a certified DAWG. my favorite play of the night was when his dunk got blocked, he’s complaining to the ref. then you watch the fast break on the other side and he comes up with a steal. this guy is a freakin engine and fights for everything.
Divo LIT his old team up. Precious and Hart were awesome too. defense was insane too, although dubs missed a ton of shots they usually hit)
Bojan was terrible as usual, although he did hit a huge shot in the 4th.
the crowd tried its best to get into it, but Knicks shut it down everytime. tried to get an mvp chant going when Brunson was on the line but got drowned out pretty quickly. first time watching the Knicks win in person (they lost last 3 games i watched them here aince porzingis days hahaha) question for those who have been to chase center and the garden, how do they differ??
