  1. God damn wtf, poor guy Iā€™ve really enjoyed watching him and his brother

  2. asapshrank

Oh man, hopefully this is a one time thing for him cause this can be career ending if it’s reoccurring right?

  3. lazzysmalls

Terrible news considering what we know about Bosh and Koloko. Wishing him the best.

From the medical report: ā€œUnder the guidance of Pistons team physician Dr. Ramsey Shehab of Henry Ford Health, Thompson has been cleared to resume conditioning and will begin non-contact basketball activities at the conclusion of the regular season with a gradual ramp up over the summer months in preparation for a full return next season.ā€

  4. oh fuck. blood clot is a career ending risk

I think Brandon Ingram came back from it though

  5. YouStillTakeDamage

Fuck, not a blood clot. Thatā€™s scary as shit.

  6. aita0022398

Shit, poor guy. Hope it all works out for him

  7. JimmyLaangaab

Damn man thatā€™s scary to hear. Every time I hear blood clot I think about Chris Boshā€™s sudden retirement. Hope itā€™s not as bad as that

  8. Damn, how common is that in such a young and healthy person?

  9. Even_Note_1604

oh fuck he’s so young and has had a great year too this sucks. get better soon!

  10. Street-Common-4023

Uh oh praying for him but still man bosh had the same shit

  11. asianxxurlacher

Damn hope he can recover from this and return to the court

  12. comeonmang126

The season from hell continues. I truly hope heā€™s ok man life is way more important than ball. As long as he doesnā€™t have what ended boshs career Iā€™ll consider it a win

Sometimes blood clots are due to an anatomical condition and a simple surgery can fix, like Brandon Ingram

Others have chronic conditions and have to retire, like Chris Bosh

Others have chronic conditions, but can still play and manage them, like Hakeem Olajuwon

So it all depends on the scenario for Ausar… I wonder if Amen is susceptible to the same stuff?

  14. best of luck hopefully hes able to overcome & get back onto the court.

  15. teddyjj399

Fuckkkkk heā€™s my favorite player, this is awful for him šŸ™ really hope itā€™s a one off this team needs him, scary situation

  16. governedbycitizens

whatā€™s up with all these players getting blot clots recently

  17. GuessableSevens

I’m not a thrombosis specialist so I don’t know the specific likelihood, but if this happened because he has a genetic predisposition to clotting due to a known gene mutation, Amen’s career is also possibly over.

One clot could end two careers of that’s the case. Insane.

I hate blood clots, hopefully his situation is a 1-off and doesnt have to be sidelined with anticoagulants. Speedy recovery Ausar, a true defensive beast

  19. Oh holy shit, thatā€™s terrible. Hope this oneā€™s treatable

  20. dnfnrheudks

Blood clots are dangerous was this a random screening or underlying issue

  21. Shagrrotten

Oh wow, dangerous stuff. Hope he is able to get this sorted out and doesnā€™t get Boshā€™d. Thompson has shown so much promise this year, Iā€™m excited to see him going forward.

  22. From a championship franchise to a truly cursed franchise

  23. Hopefully this is like with Brandon Ingram and it just happens once and disappears entirely

  24. Traditional_Golf_221

I remember at the beginning of the season when Detroit fans were gloating they have the better Thompson twin. Amen is clearly better.

  25. How do they discover if you have these types of clots? Ultrasound? MRI? CT Scan?

  26. Terrible. Is it more common in NBA players because of their heights and constant flying?

  27. ElderGoose4

I read that too fast and thought it was Amen. Still concerning stuff and hope itā€™s just a one time thing. Asaur skipped out on the last year of HS and College for basketball so thatā€™s a huge bet on his success.
