Based on conversations at practice today, I’ll say there is a strong probability Mitchell Robinson comes off the bench once he returns.

Love this, let him work back into game shape and let Hartenstein keep cooking with the starters, he’s been balling the whole season with them

Honestly, IHarts skill set is low-key needed more on the bench imo. Which is a testament to just how good he is.. dude is probably our 3rd or 4th best player maker (sometimes 2nd).

Those back door cuts and DHOs would work perfectly with J Hart and might even get Bogey into some type of consistent rhythm.

Imagine Mitch cooking second stringers on the glass

It’s a W either way. But this is the most logical move to get Mitch back up to speed. He may end up closing the game and playing more minutes in total despite coming off the bench. Both of those things are more important.

A lot of ppl are underestimating him because IHart has played well while Mitch has been out

Both guys bring unique qualities to the team. Thibs can split the minutes between him and IHart so both stay fresh and hopefully healthy

  7. Is anyone else scared they are bringing Mitch back too soon like they did with OG? I saw a highlight of Mitch a week or two ago and he still looked hobbled. They applied for the injury exception for Mitch, and while that exception wasn’t granted. I got this feeling that Mitch would still be out for the year. And if they do bring him back, they likely will bring him back injured. He won’t be the same Mitch

Are we forgetting Mitch is one of the only players in the nba who changes the entire game on defense. He should be first string or at least co-first playing 24 minutes or up once he gets to speed.

That being said a couple possible advantages to iHart playing the first 5 minutes of the game are 1) fast offensive start has been helping the Knicks this season and D is less important as the game opens; 2) Mitch can avoid those early fouls

    This is non-news.

Anyone who thought a dude can be out for months…his backup absolutely excel….and he be automatically slotted into the starting unit, ..knows nothing about basketball.

Not too mention, we give up a little defense with iHart and some offensive rebounds… We give up basically an entire offensive player when Mitch plays

  10. Give him the green light from 3 off the bench. Hes a 7ft kyrie irving in disguise

  11. All due respect to Mitch, ihart worked his fuckin ass off to get where he is today, It would not surprise me one bit that Mitch is coming off the bench upon returning and through the playoffs (although that might be more matchup based)

Makes sense, Mitch has glass feet, is not in game-shape, and I-Hart is playing out of his mind on both ends, doing all the little things

Mitch should def be coming off the bench and then take it from there

Unfortunately this team needs Randle way more than Mitch at this point, but w/e
