J.B. Bickerstaff | Cavs vs Heat Post Game | 3.20.2024

Coach that second to last play that George ended up taking a layup on what was the original design of that play um it was screening action to try to create a three was there a particular player that you were looking for to take that shot um there was Darius coming off the backs

Side or the front side and Sam coming off the backside on a hammer action and obviously moving on from that Jared Allen had 2020 and was able to impose his will on the paint but he’s done this all season what have you seen him grow for in the toughest act for for this

Entire season um I mean I think I mean he just continued to progress continue to take steps um you know continue to be dominant and just do whatever he thinks he can to help us win basketball games um you know he’s he’s been a leader he’s been consistent um you know he’s been

Dedicated to whatever it is that we’re trying to do he’s been selfless with his body um he sacrificed a ton uh physically just to help this team win games darl Terry down the down the stretch I had nine points in the final two minutes just U how tough of a matchup was that

For you uh he made tough shots you know give him credit um you know I think there was um you know a couple tough ones obviously where time and score was important and understanding you know the three-point shot and those types of things but I’ll give him credit he made

Play there were multiple points in the game where you guys were making runs but not until the fourth quarter were you finally able to get that that lead back um just what do you think the difference was in those last two minutes or so that prevented you from pulling this one out

I mean again they made tough shots so give them credit um you know um four-point lead with a minute to go um you know you got your best defender one their guy and I take that match up every time I believe in Isaac Coro um he’ll take that match up every time tonight

Terry just made the shot SP Spencer D Cav cider uh Darius had 20 and nine at night but one turnover um so when he’s playing clean ball like that how much easier does it make it on you guys to get into your sets and and to make sure

That you know take care of the ball obviously makes a possession game for you guys I mean that’s what the gamees come down to um you know they come down to possessions whether that’s shots on goal uh defensive rebounding or offensive rebounds allowed those types

Of things um you know you want to win The Possession game as much as you can you know with the talent that we have uh the guys in their shot uh shot making capabilities um you know you want to give them every opportunity to get shots anything else

Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff spoke with the media following a 107-104 loss to the Miami Heat on March 20, 2024 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

  1. GARLAND COULD EITHER help US TO A WIN THE GAME OR HAVE US TRYNA GET BACK IN THE GAME CONSTANTLY SHOOTING US IN THE FOOT
HE HAS TO BE A BETTER FLOOR GENERAL N EXPAND HIS GAME HIS MOVES LOOK PREDICTABLE
FLOATER N MID RANGE PULL UPS STOP SHOOTING 3s
WHEN ITS A CLOSE GAME CMON GARLAND BE THE PGFROM 2 YRS AGO CANT BLAME MITCHELL

  2. Super sloppy game on the Cavs players. Not JB's fault. Too many careless turnovers… Sure hope we do not run into the Heat in the playoffs… No way!

  3. Turnovers killed em but they played hard and that's all I really need to keep me from screaming at the TV lol

  4. Tough schedule coming up I can see this team fighting for 5 and 6 playoff position when it's all said and done

  5. Were on a 11-2 run to come back and JB calls a timeout kills our momentum , That led to another terrible ato, then he challenges an obvious foul, which lead to us having none final 4 secs. We got outcoached end of game 🤷🏾‍♂️

  6. No questions regarding the coach being harassed last year by a gambler and he reported it to the NBA…as reported by the local Cleveland news after the game…just asking….

  7. Not outcoached, out – manned , there's NO way that was a foul on Issac when at first, whistle blew for the " High Five " foul ( couldn't sustain) so AFTER Ref confers with Coach Heat , the legs got twisted !? As long as these CAVS can play Defense First without phantom fouls alongside their great ball movement, Cleveland can beat ANY and EVERY NBA Squad , JB Bickerstaff said this on BOTH Winning Streaks and He can coach as well as anyone else! Stop Hating the Cavalier's Coaches it gets old !!!

  8. I dont think yall understand that we are out our best player, our 3rd best player and our starting small forward and we still made this a close game

  9. Wasn't too mad about this loss. Terry Rozier ALWAYS kills it when he plays in his hometown, Cleveland. Those are two tough shots that go in and you live with it. If they didn't go down, Cavs likely would've walked away with the win and the narrative would be about how the Cavs show resilience while missing key starters.
