Only four players in 2024 have scored 20+ with 15+ rebounds and 4+ blocks- Joel Embiid, Dereck Lively II, Victor Wembanyama (2), and Anthony Davis (2)

Something crazy to think about for me when AD puts up a 23/19/4/4 line on 63% from the field with almost 40 minutes played and I don’t see anyone really talking about it.

He played almost 40 minutes which we needed all of to secure the win. For a man largely derided around the league for his health and effort, he’s been our best player this year and our most consistent. He’s now 4th in total rebounds, 3rd in rpg, 3rd in blocks, tied for 5th in bpg, and 8th in total minutes played.

Outside of this sub I get that it’ll take time to change narratives, but I watched all of Pau’s career and I see so many similarities between how the world treats these guys and how fans treat these guys. Don’t wait until AD is gone to appreciate what you’re seeing out of him.

  1. Imo he’s been playing at an MVP level and been surprisingly healthy. If we were a higher seed, AD would or should be in serious contention for MVP AND DPOY. He should’ve won DPOY at least one or two other times, if it weren’t for these BS narratives.

  2. Yea the difference is, no one is going to be hyping up or glazing AD when he does it. But when those other player’s do it, its “Oh this guy is DPOY candidate” “This guy is a generational talent” (more for Embiid and Wemby) but no love from non lakers fans when AD does it

1 shy of 20 rebounds? He is clearly on decline…
