Being able to do that regardless of where the Spurs are right now to see them have a convincing yeah that’s great you know uh that’s that’s what you want them all to look like when you get an early lead uh you know to keep your foot

On the gas play the third quarter the way we did um go for a knockout punch which we did and um you know just played a a really really solid 48 minutes curious when you have a chance to rest Kevin and de BR probably for a few

Seconds of the the big is that coning this late in the season well it’s uh you know you want more of those you know and because we’ve we haven’t uh taken care of business with the lead uh too many times we haven’t had enough of those but

Um you know we welcome that opportunity it’s uh it’s always good for for those guys to get an extra rest what you think of this the job overall on tonight competed I mean he’s he’s a tough cover as tough as there is in this league honestly he’s so unique uh but our guys

Really competed I thought you know really Kevin Durant starting on him and and doing uh not just switch and everything but you know trying to stay maintain the matchup as much as possible did a great job and in our fives did a great job um you know trying to plug

Everything at the ram he still got going a little bit but solid performance we’ll have to do it again on Monday think just overall tonight yeah a great I mean he just he was uh you know first class Devin Booker tonight he was scoring he was passing uh in complete

Control of of the game and um you know really really strong performance by book when you have obviously again on Monday day between what you want to get tomorrow yeah we just got to tighten things up and uh you know go over potential adjustments they may make you

Know and uh you know see how they can change the game uh expect a different energy they played last night you know so I mean you know expect them to have a lot more fight on Monday night and a tougher battle and then last the point row I think he had 12 12

Assists one turnover is just a spectacular performance he’s you know he’s uh he’s reshaping his game for this team you know what I mean and this role is different than than some of the roles he’s had on on his teams in in Washington and uh you know he’s he’s

Going to do whatever uh the team needs and to see him playing this way is is uh is really uplifting to our whole group um you know efficient scoring a basketball efficient with uh with ball security and uh and 12 assists season High I mean I can’t say enough about how

How well he’s ging and he’s guarding his he’s defending his butt off too you know what I mean his his ball containment is uh is the best on our team right now and um he’s doing on both ends there anything that you said but when to start having this that conversation about hey

Need you to be more of what he is now well just we we had a a point I I don’t really recall exactly what game or what stretch but there was some games where it was just you know book was really handling the point and you know we’re

Trying to get KD and and Brad involved and and you know we just weren’t getting uh getting Brad involved enough you know and and there were some stretches where book you know you could see that book could have been more comfortable just playing off the ball where he’s more

Used to so um you know we made that switch and you know Brad’s handling more he’s just he’s just involved he doesn’t need to shoot the ball you know what I mean he just um you just don’t want a guy like that being underutilized you know what I mean so when he started

Handling a point and touching the paint at will and just really generating a lot of offense for us whether he was scoring a basketball or spraying it back out you know we just realize that there’s a hell of a weapon there and um you know it

Sort of uh helped the pieces fall into place minut yeah that’s always a plus um especially at this point of the season um to get get our rest and you know more importantly play the right way to put us in that situation I think it’s just everybody I

Think team defense we we found the Rhythm um and that directly translates to the offensive side of the ball um I mean I don’t want to get complacent we have a lot to work on but you know we’re taking steps in the right direction just you know closing the team

Out that’s been an issue but you’re 30 yeah I mean this is what you know we’ve been working forward and towards All Season you know and I think the timing is right I think it’s the you know the meat of the season and you know it’s time to lock in and get prepared

For for postseason between time guys just a force you know I think my favorite part about him is you know his mindset um you know not nowhere near soft um you know he’s he’s a competitor to the to the highest level you can tell after games that losing bothers him it’s

Not something that he’s gotten used to so you know I I’ve watched all his mannerism watched how he carry itself and you know it seems like a season vet yeah I mean we talked after the game um he left me a nice bottle of wine here

I me we drank one together after we won Gold together so you know we have some incredible memories even though it was a short amount of time in Japan but you know I always had a high respect for him but relationship took off while I was out there just talked about just playing

With a sense of urgency kind of you just said clicking at the right time how are you feeling that that’s translating so far um very well um you know it’s been all of us you know we we’ just been communicating with each other we’ve talked as a team and you know we

Understand it’s go time you know we have goals we have things that we’re trying to reach um and we’re going to have to do it together had a comfortable win continue to have kind of that mentality putting teams playing yeah I mean we you know we have

Vets around here you know we’re not a young team we we know what’s at task we know what our goal is so you know we’re focusing on ourselves right now and I think that you know will turn out the best for us yeah yeah I mean I love playing so I

Don’t really be tripping you know I mean play to play but you know it’s always good to see uh you know us be up uh and play well play a good style of ball from the first quarter to the four and uh get guys who don’t get a chance to play some

Minutes so um so it was definitely cool to see that and I think just all game we played off of each other on both ends you spoke up and communicated and um that’s formula for us more than anything I think all of us handled the ball and I think that was

Able we was able to keep our turnovers down that way and U you never knew who was going to attack you know bed up of times I bought up of times Brad did we came off with dribble handoffs pin Downs made plays out of that and uh we we

Stayed unpredictable you know so I think you know when you got just one or two guys just handing the ball the whole time and sometimes we can get is stagnant and know you know we all moved we all came off the ball we all play off

The ball as well came off pin downs and our teammates F off of that yeah I mean just simply just you know switching up who initiates the ball sometimes switching up who’s going to be the score One play who’s setting the screen One play you know so just we all

Can we all versatile players that can do everything on the offensive side of the floor so we utiliz that um and we played off of one another you know guys got their shots up they got good looks up teammates got good shots up it was a good flow

Tonight yeah I mean he’s I me it’s a team effort with him you can’t guard him one on one he’s a low you know he’s tough you know cuz so long and you feel like you playing good defense he still can get around you because of his length

And you know then you look up he had to run you know so I think it’s a team effort and guys were there for one another and was able to uh you know just get in his way just a little bit you know I think it’s the whole team did a

Good job of guarding men one he means so much to me the game of basketball it’s state of Texas uh you know playing here in Austin I knew uh and coming up to a lot of San Antonio games when I was in college you know you

See the impact that he had on just everybody in this region you know I always admire him from afar but when you get into the league and get around them you see what type of guy he is just a real human being you know no fake side no character with him

He’s just a real guy then having a chance to play with him and win a gold medal that just took my respect to the next level so just want to always give him a hug and tell them I love him we we gonna be tied together forever with that

Gold medal so he sent me some wine too before the game and it’s just a stand standup man just a just a a true true uh friend you know and I’m somebody I admire and respect so much Kevin appreciate
