Size guard in the NBA that lends itself so well to creating mismatches being more switchable defensively although I don’t necessarily think that’s a strength of his and I’ll get to that in seconds um but and regardless like unfortunately guys in this case size does matter a little
Bit um as far as the rest of Top’s game goes uh let’s go with a shocker here like he’s a European so he’s got pretty damn good Vision when it comes to passing the ball um just in general a lot of players coming from the European
Game do have a pretty good feel for moving the basketball so in terms of that like that’s got to excite you and I think his finishing ability around the basket is probably the most exciting part of his game on top of being a really good slasher Nia topish just has a really good
Control in which like he does it like he has a very good change of pace game when he knows when to pick it up he knows when he can kind of like lull a defense to sleep a little bit and then just boom burst get to the bucket get to a spot
You know and get that finish it’s very impressive and it’s very reflective of his overall just basetball IQ I think is tremendous I’ve already talked about the vision I think the basketball IQ overall just on the offensive game for topage looks fantastic however with topage there are a couple of concerns that
Maybe jump out at me a little bit um for starters kind of alluding to what I’ve already said you would think somebody of his size and general athleticism would be a better Defender than he is like somebody of his wings B should be more disruptive defensively than he’s been
And when you throw on the tapes like he’s maybe not the worst Defender um you’ve seen by any means but you’d expect him to be better which I think is a little concerning I think the biggest concern when I look at Nikola topic is quite frankly he doesn’t play off the
Ball he just he doesn’t play off ball basketball and in particular when you’re talking about the rap and you’re talking about the system that I think they’d like to run when you’re talking about Darko ball and some of the things he hopes to accomplish him not playing off
Ball might not be a good fit for what dark or yakovich is trying to install in terms of the offensive system and in terms of the offensive game plan and in general I think I always am wary of guys that don’t play off the ball because
Yeah like if the ball’s not in His Hands how much value is he really offering especially because his shooting is inconsistent it could be better in terms of his perimeter shooting so how much value is he really offering when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands
Because when he does have the ball in his hands he’s impressive he’s fun to watch he can do a lot for you but when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands I don’t know if the value is necessarily there for Nicola toic to fully unlock his potential in the league
I think he’s really going to need to improve that three-point shot I think right now especially given the player that he is in terms of the finishing ability not having a threat from the perimeter as a part of his game unfortunately will dampen the ceiling of
Who you can be as an NBA player because I think if teams aren’t going to respect you if teams aren’t going to take you seriously from Beyond The Arc then unfortunately speaking for him they will defend the paint and that’s what they’re going to choose to do over and over
Again when guarding him so I think he needs to add that consistent threat from the perimeter into his offensive Arsenal however I do still think he’s an intriguing enough name and if you put on the tape for him he’s catches your eye enough that you
Look at the guy and you go damn this could be a good player for my basketball team at the same time though I do think the concerns for him are maybe a little bit more pressing than maybe some of the other guys that I’ve mentioned that
Being said I think SAR and balas come with their own concerns so make it that what you will but I think topage is intriguing but maybe has a few just kind of yellow flags that really make you kind of look at him and go all right and
