[BBall Index] The Warriors have received huge play from both their rookies as TJD has come into the rotation. He’s working well as a rim protector and an off-ball impact player who can help get second-chance possessions while getting the most Movement Points/75 among rotation bigs in the NBA.

  1. Why do they have him down as a PF on offense? 🤨 He’s never once played anything close to power forward.

Trayce has been really good, matching the flashes he showed earlier before falling out of the rotation for a spell. His work vs. Giannis showed an upside we did not predict out of a 23 year old rookie. I doubt a jumper is coming but if he keeps learning and doing what he’s doing, we got a starting C in the 2nd round.

  3. don’t know what kerr has been doing with jackson-davis this season especially over the last 3-4 months after he played sporadically the first 2 months to begin his NBA career

jackson-davis started to get consistent playing time during a month long stretch from mid december to mid january … about when draymond got suspended

in 14 games with 3 games as a starter jackson-davis averaged

    11.9 pts 7.2 reb 1.7 ast 1.1 blk on 74/0/63 splits in 22 mintues

when draymond came back from his suspension kerr stopped playing him as over the next 1.5 months and in the next 18 games he averaged

    5.6 pts 3.4 reb 0.8 ast 0.8 blk on 67/0/50 splits in 11 minutes

during this 6 week stretch jackson-davis didn’t play 20 minutes in any game until that blowout loss vs the celtics after he averaged 20+ minutes the previous month

but ever since in the last 11 games where he started 3 games jackson-davis is back in the regular playing rotation again averaging

    11.1 pts 7.4 reb 1.9 ast 1.8 blk on 75/0/46 splits in 25 minutes

kerr yo yoing the young players this season in terms of their rotational minutes and or playing time on the court has to be frustrating for all of them

Might be obvious, but what exactly are movement points ? Are they all the points scored besides set shots?

His perimeter defense has been surprisingly solid, which I assume is part of that Movement score.

He does a great job of preventing drives or keeping up to contest if he does get beat. Players keep hitting step back 3s against him, but whenever that happens I wonder how anyone could guard it.
