Jalen Brunson despite the loss: 61 points on 25-47 FG, 5-13 3FG, 6-6 FTS (61% True Shooting)

Jalen Brunson had a monster game tonight against Victor Wembanyama and his San Antonio Spurs. His full stats were 61 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 turnover. He was +20 despite a 4 point loss. Knicks need every win they can get to overtake the Bucks in the standings, and so this was a crushing loss for them.

Who does Jalen Brunson think he is, DeJounte Murray ?!

  2. ImpactFuzzy8713

Insane game but no idea why they just kept isoing him in the late 4th and OT. Ended like 6/17

  3. Headlesshorsman02

Hopefully Randle is back soon so he can have some help on offense

Jalen Brunson saw Dejounte Murray take 44 shots yesterday and said “hold my chopped cheese”.

  5. 32 free throws to 12. Knicks did it to themselves but there was a lot of inconsistency. W/e we know the refs can’t do their job right. Hell of a game by JB

2nd highest scoring game in Knicks history, only 1 shy of Melo’s jumpshot game. Insane.

Was a brutal finish. A lot of people will point out the officiating (that fucking Mitch call on the jumpball was trash) but no one was in a rhythm the entire game besides Brunson. Mitch was slow as hell laterally now that he’s returning and Hart being a little sloppier than usual makes a big difference here.

Probably should’ve had more than 6 FTs as well

  9. 422394768

Also 2nd fewest free throws attempted in a 60+ point game

  10. Should have benched a least one minute he was clearly cooked in the end

  11. Games between 60 and 70 points this season are cursed.

What a fucking game. Shooting 47 times is insane. Fella needs some help out there.

Brunson has gotta be a lock for the Olympics if he’s interested.

  14. HipnotiK1

would have had 70+ if he got half the calls they gave wemby.

edit: i take that back. he would have only had 50 something and the knicks win in regulation.

  15. Brunson saw dejounte take 44 shots and said “Hold my beer”

Gotta give props to Jalen, he was absolutely torching us all night. He’s so versatile on offense and he navigates the PnR so well. GG Knicks

Saw Wemby had 40/20/7 and thought that was fucking nuts. Click over to the Knicks stats and here’s Brunson with 61 fucking points.

  18. The-Pharcyde

Gotta be so deflating scoring 60+ and losing

It feels like just last night another player got blasted for taking 44 shots in a game.

Obviously it’s different when a guy is hitting those shots though.

  20. Negative_Method_1001

Brunson with the most ethical 60 point game.

Dude would have scored more than Luka if he got Wemby’s whistle.

Disclaimer: I’m high and very much a biased Knicks fan

Wemby is a very talented guy. Much respect to him. The Knicks also could’ve played a lot better and the Spurs absolutely earned the win.

But man the refs were fucking atrocious. I know i’m very much biased, but Brunson is getting absolutely MAULED in the paint and is getting zero calls, while on the other end it feels like Wemby is getting touch fouls. If you want to call it that way, i’m fine with that. Just do it on both ends. Just be consistent.

And on top of that, what the fuck were some of these bullshit calls. Jump ball violation with less than a minute left in OT?? I still don’t know what the violation was. Who calls that. Also really questionable call on Deuce…

ppl really talking about FGA?…lol. as if FT’s aren’t possessions and negated shot attempts as well? 61 without getting many FT’s is more impressive than guys getting 20 of the points at the FT line to me. Brunson isn’t reliant on the whistle.

Jalen Brunson is the first player since the NBA/ABA merger to score 61+ points in a game with under 7 free throw attempts.**

    A legendary performance.
