Ed at that point maybe if he wins the sort of NCAA finals that’s where his projected draft stock will go but with that 17th pick and definitely at that second round selection I wouldn’t be shocked if the Raptors use one of these picks especially if they can’t bring

He’s listed at 300 lbs but for any team to improve his mobility and prevent future foot injuries, he’ll have to shed some on that weight and Change his diet.

This is the problem im afraid of with drafting Edey and it’s for his own good. People need to understand Edey is more than likely a project in the NBA and he’ll likely spend a lot of time in the G League developing in his game early in his career. He’s not going to walk into the NBA and do what he’s doing in NCAA basketball. NBA players are a lot stronger, bigger, faster and simply more skilled than the college guys that’s guarding him now. The difference between Edey and somebody like Wemby is Wemby was playing professional basketball against grown men which made it easier to adapt to another professional league with big bodies. There’s some huge players in the Euro League and he was already learning our to deal with bigger bodies. He wasn’t being guarded by some 18 year old freshman that just got recruited from some high school. People need to be realistic with Edey and the fact he’s more than likely a project that will take years to develop. I just think raptors fans are going to hamper this kid’s development by expecting too much from him right and thinking he’s going to walk into the NBA and drop 30 point games right away. He’s simply not use to being guarded by guys like Embiid and Jokic who are big, strong but also have quick hands to strip the ball from him. He’s not use to guys like Kyle Lowry getting their spot picking up charges on him.
I’m loving the Purdue run to the final four and really enjoying Edey. But as far as the NBA is concerned the best player comparison is Boban. Backup centre, 6-8 PP’s at best. Good hands, decent instincts but doesn’t have NBA quickness especially lateral movement.
They should send RJ and IQ to the 905's for conditioning until Memphis loses another game

WE NEED ZACH EDEY BADLY BRO!!! THE GUY IS ANIMAL! His haters can't even deny him now, the guy is posessed 40 pts and 16 rebs in an Elite 8 game. He is dictating these games bro and overpowering teams. I can't remember seeing someone at his height dominating like this since Yao Ming. He's in absolutely great shape too and he will bring some Olympic experience this summer. We have to draft him, I'm at the point right now where I can't accept any other picks unless Edey is taken ahead of our first pick of the draft. Also, Dalton Knecht was lights out today as well.
I don’t think Edey will be available at 17th pick. We may need to trade our 17th pick and 31st picks to trade up for a higher pick to acquire him. Or maybe if he climbs up the draft ladder we take a chance and take him at number 6. Love to hear what everybody thinks

Zach Edey has a wide range of as high as 12 to 32 in various mock drafts. If purdue wins it all, we may see crazy things happen. Zach Edey #1?
I mean if we can pick him up in the second round than why not. Pretty low risk, no ones expecting him to be a generational defender/big man. It's not like he's Wemby. Would be a great story to draft a hometown guy who's as tall as Wemby. Glady put him on a two way contract for him to condition his body with the 905 and give him those pro league reps. Can't be any worse than McDaniels.

The Zach Edey discussion is def very split amongst Raptors fans since the Scottie Barnes draft night. Reddit hates him while Youtube especially here is fairly positive. It's gonna be interesting and gonna keep a good eye on Edey for the rest of the tournament.
He won't be as effective in the NBA… he couldn't even stay on the court against the USA in FIBA basketball. He is a situational player in the NBA and won't be able to guard in space- he has to play drop coverage only. I see a team like OKC or SA drafting him.
Hopefully Risacher is available with the 6th pick or even if we get a top 4 pick. Edey I pray is available with the Pacers pick. Our team can help Edey controls his weight.
