Couper Moorhead: Bam is up to No. 5 in DefEPM (+2.8) among awards eligible players and Miami is up to No. 6 in Defensive Rating. When Bam is on the floor Miami’s halfcourt defense is the equivalent of No. 2 in the league. When he sits, it drops down to No. 27.

It’s simple math. Bam = Defensive player of the year.
He and spo have deserved dpoy and coach of the year like 4 times now already , but voters hate the heat
Unfortunately for bam he doesn’t play 48 minutes so they never have a top 3 defense
He gets punished for having to be an entire teams defense when it comes to DPOY In that regard
We drop 25 spots when Bam sits. I mean it’s noticeable if you watch Heat games but my god, Bam carries the defensive weight of 14 players on his back.

I’d be interested to know what the drop is for Gobert and Wemby and if it is more than 25 spots.
I just wanna stress how cool it is that this sub spends most of every season whining about this guy
