With how close 1-3 are, as well as how easy it can be to slip into the play-in — there’s no point in positioning to be able to choose 5th or 6th seed in the final days because the opponent is too unpredictable. Best keep winning to keep confidence high and vibes good.

  2. It’s too tight to really try & pick & choose matchup. But it’s a low IQ take to not avoid Denver if we had the possibility, that’s just maximizing the chances of going far & seeing more playoff ball.

Avoid Denver. Everything else I’m absolutely confident in beating.

in all the time i’ve followed sports (and it’s starting to be a lot of years lol) i’ve never seen this tactic not backfire

it’s especially true since there’s no silver medal or anything, wheither you lose in second round or WCF don’t change shit

try to win the most possible, especially because the play in is still a threat, then play who’s in front of you

I understand those who think “if you want to win a chip, you have to beat the best” mentality, and they are RIGHT.

But that being said, of course it would be better to put off playing the best team as long as possible. It definitely is good for player and team development to get to play as many playoff game as possible. If we can get favorable matchups in the first and second round, then that is anywhere from 8-14 games of experience for guys like Lively, Hardy, possibly OMax, Exum and other guys that don’t have a ton of playoff basketball experience. It also makes Luka have more trust and faith in our roster and team building with Kidd/Nico.

I know we can beat Denver, but it is going to be tough and we could lose as well. So hopefully we play them later. That being said, I don’t really care about matchups at this point. Dallas just needs to go into the playoffs playing our brand, our identity of basketball, and we can beat anyone in 7 games. Lets get it started, because my body is ready.

  6. We’ve been on a complete tear but could still slip into the play in. We need to take care of our end and win every game we can.

Every win builds confidence with this group

  7. Should I be embarrassed that I’m on both sides of the lowest curve? lol.

Fuck it. Keep winning. We gonna run a gauntlet like 2011.

I feel like Kai is the “JET” factor in the locker room believing we can win it all this year. (Minus the tattoo of the trophy).

just get the highest seed we have to play them or the team that beats them eventually.

I am definitely Team Fuck It, We Ball.

There’s also too much variability right now between where Denver could possibly land. If Denver was running away with 1st like Boston is in the East, it’d be a lot easier. But Denver could be anywhere from 1st to 3rd when the season is over.

How does one position themselves when the other position is still up in the air?

    Just win, baby.

Am I on the left or right side of the curve?

    Yes

Just hope to avoid clippers in rd1 and nuggets in rd2 but tbh, I think this team can win against anyone
