Lebron record watch: He is 49 missed shots away from owning the record of most missed shots in nba history

https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/who-has-the-most-missed-field-goals-in-nba-history

Kobe is the current record holder with 14,481 missed shots, but lebron is right behind with 14,433

Fyi: Lebron has played 140 more games than kobe

Do you think he can catch kobe before the regular season ends

  1. At almost 18 FGA per game and a season at 53% FG%, he needs 9 (edit: 6) games to do it.

So probably not (edit: probably yes!) in the regular season

  2. ShukiNathan

Only took him like 7000 more points to get there. What a bum.

Considering he only played 13 full seasons compared to LeBron’s 20+ I’m genuinely curious to how many less misses Jordan has! Does anyone know?

  4. Mahomeboy001

That’s a good question. Lakers have 7 more games left, and if we assume Lebron plays all 7, he’ll have to miss an average of 7 shots a game. Looking through his game log, he typically does not miss 7+ shots a game unless he’s scoring a lot. If I had to guess, I’d say he does get the record by the end of the season, as the Lakers have some big games coming up against the T Wolves, Warriors, and Pelicans, and he’ll probably look to be a volume scorer in those games.

Crazy how Lebron’s snapping at Kobe’s heels. With his shot volume, he just might break the record. Hold on to your seats, folks.

Bron has only played 140 more games than Kobe? Thought it’d be many more by now

When you play as long as him it’s inevitable you get the bad records to. I likened it to Brett Favre and interceptions

After reading the title my immediate thought was “I wonder who currently holds the title” and then immediately after realized it has to be Kobe.

  9. NotClayMerritt

I’m sure this is a record LeBron is fine with having considering he’s gotten it whilst shooting 53% this year (41% from 3) and is a 50% shooter for his career. Not too shabby imo

  10. Misterstaberinde

Nooooo, I always use that stat to slander Kobe.

  11. Looks like he’s about 1k behind Kareem for most FG *made*. Would probably need 2 more seasons to break that one.

  12. Took him long enough Sheesh… 21 years too late

  13. AnthonyTyrael

I guess the difference in minutes played and attempts is even more impressive.

  14. simonffplayer

the misses from the early years don’t count since the cavaliers weren’t that good

  15. I wonder who has the most missed shots of a non-Hall of Famer

  16. ryan_the_traplord

He needs to retire right now to truly be the statistics goat

  17. retrospects

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

  18. This is a pretty historic moment actually. Hope when it happens they pause the game like how they did it for total points. Needless to say, we Lebron haters eating good with this one 😈

  19. loplopplop

Its honestly quite impressive that he doesn’t have this yet.

  20. the_j_tizzle

He’s averaging more than 8 misses per game so he only needs to play in five or six of the Lakers’ seven remaining games.

  21. What a hack. I could get that record within a season. Probably before the all star break too

  22. Briggity_Brak

This is what he was talking about when he said he doesn’t have much time left. He’s gonna retire on the spot after 48 more missed shots.

  23. EightBlocked

just notified lebron of this and he told me he simply plans to not miss shots anymore
