Windy podcast on SA’s future

Some snippets on X… his “prediction” sounds like Trae Young 🤣

Glad Windy changed his mind after coming to town and talking with the GM. We are on phase 1 of Wemby era.

Trae Young isn’t the answer and I seriously doubt the FO sees him that way. They’ve said over and over they don’t want to skip steps and want to grow organically and that is what they’ll do.

  2. They can’t even fathom developing players just a trade destination

  3. The tweet shows 1/2. Can you post the second link? I don’t have a twitter account and can’t see anything additional since Elon’s takeover.

idk what path the spurs will take this offseason, it may be trae young or stay the course, keep all of your picks, build up and eventually when the time is right be on the lookout for the next disgruntled superstar, but whatever path they carve they gotta get it right.

  6. it’s only logical. there are going to be players that recognize Wemby’s GOAT potential and see the legacy points dangling in front of them if they make their way to the Spurs. there are inevitably going to be a handful of guys that see the opportunity. something WILL happen.

is it going to be Trae Young? who knows, but he seems to be a likely candidate.

i predict the FO is going to trade for a second star to pair next to Wemby, draft a key role player-type piece with a high floor this year, shuffle the rotation around so guy’s are in more clearly defined roles, play around with their future draft assets (e.g. other team’s picks + the trove of seconds) and look to fill out the rest of the team with ring-chasing veterans (ala the 2016 to 2017 Spurs).

homegrown core is probably going to be Wemby + Devin + Sochan + probably Keldon and then the team is gonna trade for a star + sign some vets & retool through the draft each year going forward.
