Deandre Ayton Postgame Interview | Portland Trail Blazers 103, Orlando Magic 104

JRE first off uh just your thoughts on the game tonight you guys go down I think 15 able to come back in fourth quarter have a chance to win it there at the end just can’t get it to fall um main thing is togetherness you know um main objective uh today was attacking

Just us knowing our Personnel you know um I was in the hudle saying let’s get to know each other more you know what I’m saying let’s let’s work on us and you know that’s what we did um played for each other and trust each other you

Know um we moved the ball well to me and you know um it created defense created our offense as well you know um us just being matching the physicality of the game and understanding that there a great team over there and they as a playoff team the best and just

Understanding that you know we you know we are NBA players too and no matter the age we out there in between those lines and we got to take care of business truly want to put my hats off to the coaches too you know we had a great uh

Walk through today you know locking in on the things we needed to cover and you know I feel like we checked everything off the Box honestly and you know lost the games lost the game on our terms you know um it was a few games walking in

Here you know we felt like we got our butt kicked but tonight we definitely bounced back from the Miami and you know we showed what PDX can do is compete uh what did you feel about the about the shot you got there at the end of the

Game that’s usually a layup but like yeah that’s about my second time third time in that situation like that it felt good but you know um I was happy I got the shot off happy there was opportunity you know scoot did his thing draw everybody in the paint you know what I’m

Saying we didn’t expect no you know really you get away with murder in times like that you know shot clock off and yeah he tried his best he got the ball to me and yeah didn’t fall but you know having a game like that you know we’re

Not going to let that uh Go pass us on the um on the uh ending like that we there a lot of great stuff we could take away from that game uh guard play tonight too I I feel like both both Scoot and Delano really kind of gave you

Something most definitely and um you know just playing together just finding Rhythm you know defense as well you know getting out on the break you know getting the ball movement um just making every everybody else be Playmakers everybody was touching the ball and the and school really LED tonight you know

Vocally and physically just you know making sure everybody got you know got their rhythm going you know what I’m saying everybody had a little sus Bari coming off the bench doing what he do Bari minutes and you know just being physical you know on the glass getting

Their on giving us extra possessions and just giving us energy and that what happened right before our eyes what do you what do you think about you talked about scoots playmaking ability just what have you seen from him in terms of that and the growth that

He’s shown better he’s going to be one dangerous player um the way how how he’s so fast and how he’s so strong you know um the league is going to is going to be aware how easily he can get to the rim when he wants to you know um I think we

All just waiting on scoop you know to tell us when he want to for real you know um well we just reading off of him you know making him grow and you know just making him work outside that box and you know just be the point guard we

Want him to be you know just being space spacing for him as well and know just not makeing him feel like he got so much on his shoulders you know what I’m saying um I’m his big man I be making sure he’s straight like you good you

Know you trying your best and you’re doing everything coach ass as the best point guard you could possibly have so dude’s on a great track
