I was [not expecting](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mavericks/comments/1btcxp4/comment/kxlalu6/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) this at all, in the sense that I was expecting the award to be given out in a couple of weeks. Until now the NBA awarded [PoM for March&April](https://www.basketball-reference.com/awards/pom.html) combined, like October&November are combined for PoM purposes – [see this announcement](https://x.com/NBAPR/status/1645879393766580225?s=20) from 11 April last year:

    >Los Angeles Lakers forward-center Anthony Davis and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid have been named the Kia NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Month, respectively, for games played in March and April.

Luka is, of course, the only Western Conference player to be awarded PoM twice this year (Tatum got two in the East) and leads in number of Player of the Week awards for the season with four as well.

Bro was on fire again. Absolutely deserved– both for individual and team performance.

It makes me happy and sad to see Brunson and Luka on here together

The crazy thing about the Kyrie trade is, that I am not salty about Brunson anymore and can really be happy about his developement. Sure, it would be nice to see Luka and JB, but with Kyrie it is a better fit imo, because Kyrie is better off ball. So, wish all the best for Brunson.

So Doncic won this award while playing a handful of games on one leg.

This kid is a generational talent. It’s illogical to be so good under those circumstances.

Surprised Jalen Green didn’t get it. Happy for Luka and Brunson.
