The Raptors FINALLY Make This Move…

The torona Raptors finally made this happen because after weeks of moves after months of transactions and almost a revolving door of players that have come in and out of this Toronto Raptors team Messi jery finally filled a critical part of this roster and regardless of if you’re rooting for this

Team to lose games you know we’re on this massive losing streak here now at this point right A lot of people are hopeful that we lose gam so we stay ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and maintain our possibility of keeping our draft pick for this season but regardless of all that every single

Toronto Raptors fan want to see some poses want to see at least a decent product out there on the basketball court for this group and lately it hasn’t really been the case and one of the major reasons because of it is because our front Court after the trades

As well as all of the injuries that have gone on to this team you know in the second half of this season we are depleted we have a massive Gap we don’t have enough pieces that are NBA level in the front Court I know Mr sa Jerry’s

Been making a bunch of moves a bunch of 10-day contracts but really it feels like all of them have been at the guard position you know shooting guards you know point guards these types of guys and our front court has kind of been neglected but you know we did sign

Mohamad du gay to the to the contract so he’s a big man that we acquired that hasn’t really lived up to some of the hype maybe some had after watching him play for the 905 but MSI Jerry finally did it today he made a move and brought

In a big man brought in a piece that can play that forward position and is an interesting sort of it’s an interesting player so basically news came out from Shams the athletic today the torona Raptors are signing Malik Williams to a 10-day contract out of the NBA’s

G-league C CU I always can’t pronounce this out of the sky Force the Miami Heats sort of g-league team and basically the 611 big has averaged 11.1 points per game nine rebounds and 1.2 blocks for uh you know down there in the G league so basically he’s an

Interesting sort of player looking at stats looking at his profile I mean he’s a guy as Shams basically alluded to 611 250 lbs there and it’s pretty tall right he’s said you know is athletic he’s mobile he’s 25 years old as well he’s a big that can come in and try to earn

Himself a spot in the front court for this Raptor group looking at his stats hasn’t done anything crazy in the G League again 25 years old one season down there in the G league has previously played overseas and things like that but basically average 11 and uh 11 points nine rebounds 1.4 assists

1.2 blocks per night is a defensive anchor you know for the Sky Force down there in the G league and has an interesting sort of story has an interesting career and people that watch college basketball I’m not a dieh hard college basketball guy but obviously Louisville is always kind of in the mix

As one of the top teams in college basketball in the NCAA at least one of the more entertaining teams to follow and you know see them go but basically Malik Williams he was a part of Louisville you know for multiple Parts years and I believe he played 5 years in

The NCAA and then never got drafted in the 2022 NBA draft played over SE played his first season in the G League this year and is now finally getting his NBA shot and could be a cool piece a cool player basically his pros and cons in

Terms of when he came out of college uh basically he’s regarded as a decent low post score a guy that’s a decent shooter for a big man has stretch big man potential right obviously not a guy that’s going to be knocking down a ton of Threes just looking at his stats

Right shooting 32% so pretty solid there for a 611 big again that plays defense that can score in the paint not going to be uh Kelly oen or something on those lines but I guess Kelly oen hasn’t really been knocking down a ton of Threes for the Raptors you know shoots

Them in a decent volume but his percentages have gone down since he’s been acquired by Toronto but he excels with scoring off the ball in motion plays he’s a good rebounder he’s a decent Defender he’s above average athlete and he has a good motor so he’s

A guy that has some stretch big man potential he has the athleticism the frame to be a solid Defender not one of those you know gck Lively or one of those prospects that have insane potential on that end of the court but definitely is capable at Manning the big

Man spot you know hustling down low and being a decent anchor on the defensive end with Yak purle out could be a plus for this Raptor group however in terms of negatives for his game still needs improve his shooting obviously as again 32% is not bad in the NBA G league but

Still a guy that uh could develop in that area can grow only 25 years old big men they develop a little bit later can be passive on offense he’s not an elite shop blocker he struggles to guard quicker players and this is something I’ve seen a lot of people really bring

Up over the last couple Seasons especially with the Raptors have been on a hunt to find their future big man and obviously we brought in yaka purle we signed him to a long-term contract so right now he’s sort of that piece and what people like about purle is defensively his positions really well

And he’s kind of capable for you know one of the not the most you know not precious atua out there at the center position in terms of being a super switchable big but he is capable at least you know in the pick and roll moving his feet staying in front of guys

And obviously can switch around but that’s not the case here with Malik Williams He struggles to guard quicker players and he’s not an elite athlete still above average athlete but not that Elite level that you might expect or hope for a 611 sort of prospect coming

Into the league but did not always get starter minutes you know for Louisville in these types of times and did deal with significant foot injuries in the past so is a player that has some potential again any big man that you has a solid frame has some solid siid that

Can space the court but also finish inside the lane that’s a plus that’s a positive that’s something people are looking for I know the Sky Force have been a solid team in the g- league as well so him playing on this group putting up solid stats putting up solid

Numbers I’m excited to see how a big man Prospect actually plays you know to close off this year and obviously with the team having RJ Barrett and Emanuel quickly back into the lineup to close off the season I mean the games will probably be more exciting I’m hoping I

Was hopeful the Lakers game would be a bit more competitive you know was having RJ and quickly back and obviously RJ and quickly did play very well in last night’s game against the LA Lakers but having another big man that you know’s getting an opportunity to you know space

The floor but really finish in the lane see if he’s improved as a rim protector as a big that can sort of defend at the basket that could be you know an interesting sort of storyline to close out this season with because obvious VI ly Kelly lenck and yaka purle as of

Right now as the rosters currently constructed are going to be the one and two big man there’s a lot of speculation we might Draft Zack Ed with one of our draft picks in this sort of NBA draft got again a Canadian that’s 74 so that could be another potential big man there

But you know this is the time this is the time year for these two-way Guys these G Leaguers these 10day contracts to come in and prove to Messi Jerry prove to Bobby Webster that because again they’re going to get run they’re going to get minutes they’re going to

Get opportunities it’s going to be opportunity for those guys to potentially come and and earn a roster spot the same way we’ve seen players in the past like Freddy Gillespie Utah watab have solid closings to a season and again long term it didn’t really work out but they did earn contracts

That led them into the next year and then obviously if they play well enough they can stay with the group they can grow and develop with this team obviously not a guaranteed if you get that multi-year contract or anything at that point but always cool to see a guy

With an interesting story you know five years at Louisville had some big not a big name by any means but a guy that’s kind of known by college basketball fans and things like that I’m excited to just have a big man I’m excited to see at least another forward out there

Potentially step in and see what he can do see what he can do for this Toronto Raptors group because again it’s been tough sort of searching for positives to close out this year I’m still hopeful but we’ll see how it all shakes out the Grizzlies they they’ won a couple games

So maybe the Raptors bring in some guys it’s fine if we win a game or two here or there it doesn’t seem like the Spurs or the Blazers are going to go any win streaks to close out the but let me know what you guys think about all that in

The comment section down below you guys the best to make it this far subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already anyways I’m signing out cheers

The Toronto Raptors have been struggling big time lately and one of the major reasons is after all of the trades and injuries the team is depleted in the front court. However a report just dropped from Shams of The Athletic which reveals the team has signed some front court depth. Ben Rogers breaks down the signing of Malik Williams and how he could impact the team.

  1. I laugh at the smiles on the Raptors players as they lose 15 in a row. Tank away boys, Tank away

  2. I feel bad for you Ben. And everyone else that relies on interest in the Raptors to make their bread. Concession stand ppl, bars and restaurants near the arena, are probably hurtin bad from people like me that just don’t care anymore.

This is worse than the days of Rafael Araujo!!!

  3. masai needs to find a gem somewhere somehow. he had a lot of chances already. need high potential players with defensive ability

  4. The bottomless pit time of the season… the team is losing game after game for a draft where there are no projected franchise players and most of the projected top 10 prospects are not much better than the prospects projected in the 20-30 range. The Edey hype has taken over many Raptors forums-vlogs but Indian center Kel'el Ware (think Dereck Lively) might just be the better pro prospect at the center position. I think DJ Burns of NC State may give Edey a lot of issues on offense when they match up.

  5. I hope to see Malik Williams play. I want to see him lead the Raptors to a win in these last games. Go go go Raptors! Thanks Ben.

  6. Damage has been done. Not a good draft, don't need that high pick.Bite the bullet and be done with it ! OVER! End of subject, this can't go on for 2-÷3-4 more years! Going to take along time to sort out this mess!Wanted the big 3 gone, handed Jak 4 years,Barnes going to want to more than hes worth.Be careful what ya ask for!

  7. 11 points in the g league is good for at least 30 in the NBA. Love that we haven't moved on from settling for mediocrity

  8. All this mean is that Cody Williams will be Drafted By Raptors if available at number 6.
He is good enough to make Raptors a Elite team where they can dump salary and sign a number one option
Cody Williams Efficiency is out of space, you don't see stuff like that ever
Keep acting like you guys know basketball

  9. @benrogers i dont think fans care about signing these 10 day contracts, they are more interested in the tank and the draft. tanking for 2-3 years is fine with most fans

  10. have to accept the teams not very good. even the starters are not number 1 or 2 options on good teams. rebuilding and getting high picks is good for the raptors and only viable option with free agents not lining up to sign in toronto. so chill out and just enjoy the journey. it makes the draft and summer league more interesting for the raptors as well.

  11. Honestly good luck to Malik Williams in his first NBA game. I don't have high hopes for him and there's probably a good reason why he's 25 and undrafted despite being 6'11" a willing to shoot 3s. I do hope he takes advantage of this huge opportunity he's been given unlike some of these other 10 days and two way contract players. It's a hoopers dream to play in this league, gotta make every second/minute count. More ways to impact a game than by scoring.
