/u/briguy_fieri just got thrown out too.
This team is lifeless.
I’m never gonna be mad at CJ for games like this. He’s literally the only person willing to shoot the ball on the team and ORL is a great and long defense.
Zion does nothing but underhand flip out of control and pray for a foul that he knows he isn’t gonna get at near a consistent enough rate.
Trey refuses to shoot unless he is wide open and he can’t leverage advantages on the drive against their length.
Willie glues Hawk to the bench.
There is no other option. CJ is doing what he has to, ORL is an extremely hard team to be efficient against.
He ended up with 36 points on 10/24 btw. That’s a pretty nice night all things considered. The rest of the roster is just unequipped.
I was barely watching the last few seconds, and even I received a tech wtf? I don’t have that kind of money.
Matt Ryan is the only person to shoot 45% from 3 and not get fucking minutes. Only on the pels.
New Orleans sports are cooked rn having Dennis Allen and Willie Green as the head coaches
so was Zion still out because he’s hurt?
So we build around Dyson now, right
Willie has to right the ship. I’m sorry but the sloppy no effort plays go back to him. Zero accountability in the team and zero problem solving when we can’t find a rhythm. Playoff teams need to play better. Let’s just hope we keep within the top 8 seeds and play the kings or something.
Seeing Zion go to the locker room was a harrowing experience. I really thought I might have to cheer for 1st option CJ McCollum. Bro I would need therapy for that shit
Meanwhile Willie lets his players take all that bullshit from the refs and sits on his hands
Angel Reese’s face was the personal highlight of the game. Basically the only thing that made me happy
I’m so confused right now why did 3 of our players got sent off ?
Buckle up
The only hope is we can play Kings in the play-in
I swear Antonio Daniels sounds like he’s ready to hop over the commentator booth and get into a fight 😂 idk what was going on at the end of the game but how did everyone get ejected?
I actually thought CJ while frustrating at least tried to shoot the ball and keep the Pels in the game. I honestly can’t be mad at him tonight.
Zion wasn’t very effective, I get that the refs were terrible and he got his knees dove into but he was wasn’t very good in the minutes he played and with the final score if he had a usual game from him the Pels (might’ve?) been able to win. That being said when he was out of the game it looked like the team capitulated until the very end. Idk if he got benched or if he had a stinger from that play with Gary Harris but something is going on.
Shoutout to Dyson for going 4-5 from 3. Everyone else idk it wasn’t noteworthy to me.
Tbh this team looks like they gave up until it was effectively too late. Either WG has lost the team or something cause it’s all going to shit. I get that BI is out but these are systemic issues.
BI’s injury is no excuse for the performances of late and the front office would be mistaken to use it as such
I just hope they avoid the playin by some miracle is all I’ll say…..
Magic injured both of our star players in two games this season and Magic fans tried to say that we are a dirty team in the game thread lmao. A dirty team would have Gary Harris foul baiting in a wheel chair league after tn
Willie has to go. It takes him forever to make adjustments and when he does he immediately goes away from it if it’s working. Teams watch film bro you can’t keep pushing out the same 3 plays on offense and defense and not expect others to figure it out. I watch teams put their guys in position to make plays only to have Z or BI have to beat multiple people for a bucket. Also he isn’t standing up for his players. Willie’s softness is hurting this team l. Why are your players getting multiple techs when you are getting none. You sit there every game and watch teams get physical with your guys while on the other end they get called for touch fouls. Show your ass a bit because the refs don’t respect you and know you won’t do anything because you are trying to win a no cussing for Jesus challenge.
Well that fucking sucked.
lol god we are in such a bad spot right now. Like over the last several games the team has looked broken in so many ways from coaching to players just….fucking not being able to put the damn ball in the basket in the third quarter. 5 more wins could still nab the pels at least 6th but even that is starting to look less and less likely with the Mavs and Suns both just going to town on everyone down the stretch. I hope the front office was happy not making any moves before the deadline so they could get the best possible look at what they currently had. Cause what we currently have isn’t working well enough.
The Cj discourse is weird because while he isn’t good for this team from a fit perspective, he also isn’t a trash player like say Eric Bledsoe or something. While he’s still got some juice left, it being wasted as the starting pg for the Nola Pelicans isn’t good for anyone. He’s just genuinely not worth 32mil a year for the next two years while playing out position. If we were to get another point guard, I feel like it’d be one of those situations where they don’t average as much, but the fit and defense would make up for it quietly off the scoreboard as a whole
Zion has a “finger” injury
How did Gentry sweep blazers in the play offs with a less talented team? Mfer needs to be studied lol
Put Angel Reese out there!
Play-in here we come
But seriously this team is broken. Gonna be lucky to win 3 games the way we are playing.
Offense is awful. Coaching is awful. Players just look lost. What an awful end to the season.
Coach Willie, I’m listening to you talking about composure but sometimes one simply needs to lose their shit. It can change things, especially coming from you
1-4 in our last 5 games. The one team we beat just lost to the grizzlies and wizards in back to back games
Do we have to practically win out to avoid the play in at this point?
Think Willie Green just officially lost this team in his post-game presser. If he didn’t lose the team…he damn sure lost the city
Fire Griffin. This double talking ass has done nothing but keep this team in the same spot for three seasons. This is probably the weakest our division will be for the rest of the decade & we’re staring at the play in. Team hasn’t had a real PG since he let Lonzo walk. Has never had a good center rotation & still not one two way player. He wanted some bullshit family environment & look what we have. Keeping him will only keep us on the hamster wheel.
In a span of 2 weeks I went from looking forward to being in the playoffs to the only thing that will bring me joy now is waiting for the Woj tweet after we lose in the play in that the pelicans are parting ways with Willie Green.
Also in terrified of the contract Trey will be looking for dude is a good spot up shooter but can’t shot on the move and does a terrible job of relocating to find space that type of player is not no where near worth the contract he will be asking for.
Y’all finally getting some sense about this team
David Griffin sitting in the back office with a shit eating grind watching Willie take all this heat. I’d rather start with a new GM tbh.
No true PG, no rim protection, suspect fits around our 2 main guys. I’m by no means a Willie Green stan either. This is the same problem as last year and we’ve done nothing to address our needs.
Zion needs to add a move or two to his game as well. A baby hook, small turnaround jumper from the baseline, something to counter what the defense throws his way.
Frustrating end to the season, the playin feels inevitable at this point.
There’s this. My MLB team got demolished and 1 hit. My NHL team is getting fucked in the ass atm… I’ve been on my couch for 3 hours and I haven’t had a single moment where I was actually able to cheer for something tonight. I fucking hate sports sometimes
