Indiana Pacers Postgame Media Availability (at Brooklyn Nets) | April 3, 2024

Yeah uh you know it just was an uneven um compete level for us tonight uh you we get down 11:4 call timeout get things back together build a 12 or 14-point lead and then you know we end up um with a pretty darn good first quarter 3119 and then you the second

Quarter we gave him 42 points and uh you know they have they have a talented team and they’ve proven that they can beat anybody so um you know the second quarter was was our undoing um and then the second half you know we just left too much to chance you know um

We did some good things to get back into the game after falling behind by 10 or 11 um but then it was you know having to pitch a perfect game then and we finally got up three and then gave up an offensive rebound three and so then you’re right back into the back

And forth you know thing again so um disappointing night and uh so it’s another it’s another game we’ll have to learn from get in this position you know where every game is is critical and you got a team that you know you you’ve beaten a couple times

And and you know you you know you can do it um you got to you got to Bear down and we had to Bear Down better than we did and give them credit because they played they played a hell of a game Rick down the stretch it’s why you guys have

Him uh I I guess what Pascal did in that stretch to to put you guys back in the lead yeah he he was tremendous down the stretch um but you know our game our game is a game where you know we’re we’re a we’re an accumulation of events

That’s how our team has to play I mean we don’t have the kind of talent to just you know just flip a switch and decide we’re going to come back from a 11 or 12 point deficit and just turn it on with six minutes to go um he made some great

Shots and they were they were unable to stop him and then it came down to you know one shot where he finally missed just one and then we uh and then we fouled when we should shouldn’t have and that’s you know that’s um that’s a mistake that we’ve got to correct but um

But again you know you get a 19point first quarter you you got to you got to build on it in the second now you’re not you’re not going to hold NBA teams in the teens but it’s not unrealistic to hold you know teams in the 20s and we

Did it in the third and fourth quarters uh but the second quarter was the killer yeah just bad execution on our end uh thought the way we ended the first quarter kind of played into that second quarter so um yeah I thought it was just a poor defensive quarter that I think

Gave them confidence and that allowed them to kind of make their run can you talk about that possessions with pasc out back to back yeah was you know special player doing special things I think that uh we just had to get you know one stop to kind of give us some

Momentum we weren’t able to do that and two home games how important are these yeah we’re going to take take care of business these next five um starting with OKC on Friday so um you know everybody’s got to be ready to go it being two home games how important is

For the home crowd show up yeah you know I think they’ve been amazing to us all year um you know we just we know where you know standings are and how tight all these games are and uh we just got to take care of B ourselves so obviously

This one’s frustrating but you know we got to move on and be ready to go

  1. Welcome to the play-in tournament wait are we sure this team can beat the Hawks or the Bulls 😂 every game is a toss-up with these guys

  2. Carlisle is still an abysmal coach. 1-7 record in clutch games post All-Star break.
BTW, Carlisle won his last playoff series in 2011. Easily the most overrated head coach in the NBA right now.

  3. He screwed this up (Carlisle) because during the timeouts at the end he tried to go to Pascal one and two too many times. it's insane that you don't get the ball to Haliburton until it was too late. Pascal charging, Pascal misses , then Toppin throws it away. Yes, he was on fire but you can't keep going to that well because you know he's going to eventually fail, GET IT TO YOUR OTHER SUPERSTAR YOU FOOL. Call a play for Haliburton. Totally ridiculous loss. Horrible coaching.

  4. This coach is terrible. It is way too close to keep doing these experimental rotations. Give starter minutes to players that are ACTUAL difference makers like tj and obbi. And quit playing doug for no reason. While u are already wasting jarace walkers talent

  5. Rick, it’s time to move to a front office role with this team. This team has enough talent to be more successful than they have been since acquiring Siakam. He has completely mismanaged Jarace Walker and Bennedict Mathurin these past two years. Tyrese will be fine without Rick on the bench just like Luka.
