To your card collection or diving in and we’re get into a little in-depth talk about uh Wy cards specifically so yeah very informative uh we’re going to try to take a little break from the X’s and O’s at least for a day as the Spurs wind

Down their season but we’ll be back at it uh later on this week as far as discussing what’s going on the court but hey speaking of what happened on the court I talk about yesterday Spurs uh nuggets yeah what a game what a game look the Spurs came up short losing to

Denver 110 to 115 nevertheless the Spurs showed a lot of fight considering they were without well Devin vasel Jeremy soan by the way cidd Osman exited the game with an injury oh and they also didn’t have Kellin Johnson so minus four players well you know half maybe because

Osman played a bent but nevertheless the Spurs really were competitive with Denver again losing to Denver 110 105 Spurs dropping to 18 and 58 so what are some takeaways from the Spurs loss let’s get into them right now first one is a man the battle of the big men Victor

Versus Joker what a battle these two big men had let’s put it this way Wy was short I mean he was so short not we know he’s tall but statistically was short to a quad dub he was right there he was two assists away from that and a block away

From it it was right there he finishes with 23 points 15 rebounds eight assists in 34 minutes while Joker was just Joker Man 42 points 16 rebounds in 38 minutes it was a great battle to see those two guys go at it uh hopefully they’ll be

Battling for years to come and you know you hope that wimy picked up a few tricks of the trade versus Joker facing him again Joker really using his body at him attacking him physically getting into his chest for easy buckets look Victor was no slouch as well smart from

Outside inside defending blocks the list goes on and on he was just a force on the court as well and took his game to another level considering the Spurs were depleted with several key players uh heading into tonight’s game or last night’s game I should say so yeah

Takeway number one what a battle of the bigs hopefully that’s a battle we’ll see continuing on for Seasons to come hey takeaway number two hey you know you’re thinking of who’s going to step up uh without kin without Vel without soan and the Spurs had several players do that

Namely start off with Trey Jones who had a triple double 10 points 11 assists 12 rebounds and 32 points he elevated his game Malachi got the start really had a good game had a season High 24 points three rebounds one assist how about champeny with 11 points and five

Rebounds shall I go on yes Mamu he had 10 points and nine boards Off the Bench before exiting with an injury to his ankle 10 points for o and 13 points and eight rebounds for Zack Collins so despite not having key players several Spurs stepped up their

Game that’s good to see that’s maturity that’s growth and uh speaking of growth let’s go on to takeway number three is uh them the collectively growing in the sense of not wilting in the face of a run Denver went on a furious run I think

It was like a 15 to nothing run on the Spurs uh during the game and it looked looked like the Spurs going to be lefted in the water that that was the punch that was the the onslaught that Denver was going to come at the Spurs and put

Them away early they did not the Spurs rallied back they went on a run themselves and they really kept a nip and tug and it took it down to the wire uh so you like to see that development look The Season’s all but over for the Spurs now they’re just planning for the

Future well this team is showing glimps of what they could do in the future well that’s something to build upon they did not fall they did not get blinded by the bright lights or the intensity or the stress of Denver just charging back and being the defending champs that they are

But yeah you gotta give it to the Spurs really really were competitive against the Denver Nuggets who were just without Jamal Murray and they still had uh you know Eric G I’m sorry Aaron Gordon who scored 23 points uh Porter Junior with 15 points so yeah canudas is the Spurs I

Know it stings but man what a game what a game three takeaways right there the Battle of The Bigs wimy versus Joker was a great thing to see uh several Spurs stepping up without key players out for the game and finally not giving into the pressure not wiling under the pressure

Spurs Trading cards in the state of the Trading Card World now for those you who don’t know Jacob is really versed in trading cards as a matter of fact Jacob you’re with uh gotam cards right yeah I’m part of the goam cards family yeah

Yeah I know we took a little bit of a break for a while but now we’re slowly starting to get back uh with the hobby you know interacting with people whether it be like selling cards just talking about cards or you know stuff like that absolutely AB so we’ll take a break from

The on court stuff and talk about stuff off the court and just the hobby of basketball cards going to be discussing why Fanatics might be throwing things off in the basketball card world uh wbe cards is there too much what about these custom cards that are oneof one and

Things that Spurs fans should be looking out for if they want to dive into the hobby or be hunting for specific player cards so uh Jacob let’s get Ahad and get right to it so the state of the basketball card it seems like it’s a hot

Thing right now you have Tim Duncan who recently signed like a deal I believe I who was it with again I think it was with the pan I believe he signed with panini panini yeah he signed with panini obviously uh wimy will’ll talk about more about him in the second uh segment

Uh he’s uh pretty much with Fanatics I believe and R is sign with fanatics fanatics um and so on and so forth but overall it just seems like the hobby is really taking off now where would you say the state of the trading basketball card world is right now oh it’s really

Really high really high especially uh when it comes to the W cards I mean you see them just moving like crazy and you know you see these prices they’re going through the roof and we all knew it was going to happen you know we said so at

The very beginning we’re like man wait till these Wy Cards start coming out and stuff like that and honestly you know I don’t think that we’ve seen like the peak yet because um until Fanatics and Panini figure this thing out when it comes as far as like wy’s autos for the

Cards I I think that’s when you’re really really going to start seeing some crazy prices come out well let’s dive into it you and I you know before we hit record have talked about Fanatics kind of being like I don’t want to say a bad thing but just not making things go

Right uh can you explain to everybody why you have issues right now with Fanatics and what they’re doing with Wim cards or just cards in general yeah so as a collector we get this question actually a lot everybody’s like what’s going on with Fanatics and what’s going on with panini all right

And it kind of seems like they might be have having a little battle amongst each other but the the how it affects collectors is like you mentioned when is signed with Fanatics therefore he can only sign Fanatics type cards if you look you see him he’s uh signed some

Tops cards he signed Bowman’s cards all right but um those are generally baseball cards so if you get the chance look up those autographs uh Wy cards you’ll see that he’s not wearing a Spurs jersey okay now this is where it get kind of gets interesting now Panini is

Starting to release their Wy cards where he is wearing a Spurs jersey um but those aren’t going to be autographed because he’s technically with Fanatics and as a collector you know we want to see uh those Wy cards where he’s wearing his spur uniform and stuff like

That and we want to see you know what kind of product like would come out like that but unfortunately right now until Fanatics and Panini sort this thing out um you’re just not going to yeah exactly and you know I you know obviously a lot of Spurs fans are

Getting more into the hobby especially with wimy and you mentioned that we anticipated this but you know putting wimy aside right now you know what about the state of other cards in the NBA you know what happened to scoot Henderson I mean here’s a guy that was just you know

Oh he’s you know he could have been the number one pick and now he kind of fell flat uh in his rookie season in Portland you know Brandon Miller I thought this was a draft class that was supposed to be a power draft class it looks like

It’s just wimy and that’s about it uh what about the state of the other cards the other top picks uh in wy’s draft class excuse me no you pretty much just hit the nail on the head um it pretty much just is wmy and wmy only now I mean

You if you personally collect or you have like a favorite team well then you’re going to probably disagree you’re going to be like well no these guys cards are pretty good but yeah you’re not seeing anything out there with the prices like when these cards are reaching I mean it’s just that simple

But like I said we all knew was going to happen um with this generational talent that comes come came around and stuff like that we knew it was GNA happen I just didn’t think that it was going to be at this level but I mean it is

Interesting to watch and it is fun to follow Yeah you mentioned now like you said you didn’t think it would get to this point why did you think it would get to this point as far as prices I mean we’ve seen cars go for 16,000 20,000 more you send me you know

Auctions where the prices are just out of control why are the prices so just astronomical for wmy I think it’s just because of wmy I mean we all knew that that once he once once he got here we knew was going to happen and it ain’t just with the cards

I mean you look at jerseys or autograph basketballs I mean there’s there’s lots of things out there that everybody just wants to get their hands on um like I said when when Fanatics first came out and threw this bag at wmy you know as a

Collector you see a lot of us we were just like oh man we could see what was happening we knew what was going to go down um so we really I really didn’t think that his card was gonna blow up as much as it is right

Now but it did you know what I mean um and it’s just like wow that was a little bit of a shocker and now you still continue to see it happening as Panini launches products pretty much every single month um I think you did a story

About it not too long ago where uh a car broke a record for how much it’s sold and it’s just like every time a new product comes out and like a one of one gets pulled or you know out of 10 gets pulled you know they send it off to get

Graded and comes back and there somebody out there wants that card and you just see the price go through the roof and it’s just like my goodness you know what I mean it’s interesting to watch and it’s fun to like I said it’s fun to follow yeah now

Um putting wmy aside for a bit are there any other hot Spurs trading cards that Spurs fans should be looking into whether it be on the current roster or just past players that are pretty much seeing their stock rise yeah I touched on this uh before uh so for me

Personally I saw that everybody was going and pretty much trying to collect uh Wy cards so I kind of like used a different strategy I was like H if everybody’s gonna be concentrating on wmi I’m gonna concentrate on some other Spurs uh Spurs cards Spurs guys you know

They’re my favorite team so I’m gonna personally collect or whatever um so I CH I chose to go with uh Trey and uh Blake Wesley um I’ve been I’ve been scooping up a lot of their cards you can get you get some pretty decent Blake Wesley cards right now guys um on card

Autos on let’s say uh eBay and you know they’re very inexpensive I’ve been doing that I’ve been collecting some up you know I have my eyes on some right now I still am if I come across um Trey cards you know I’ll pick those up as well I

Sent those a lot of those uh to get graded my next admission is going to be like the Blake Wesley um I kind of dove into the Malachi a little bit um Jeremy uh the secret is out or it’s been out uh his prices are pretty much up there

Which is hey that’s a good thing for him you know what I mean um that’s cool but uh Devon vasel was another one hey if you got lucky and you got yourself some Devon vels at the very beginning it looks like his uh prices

Are gonna rise up there and I got me a couple of those as well but yeah um as far if anybody’s trying to collect out there I would say if you think that uh and I had discussions with some spurs fans if you think that Blake Wesley that

They’re going to bring him back go ahead and scoop up this card yeah yeah can you explain to us the concept of sniping you always say you’re like I’m gonna snipe this card educate the fans on how it is and what it is to snipe a card and

Perhaps get that well that Spurs card that you’ve been wanting pretty much easily okay so sniping is a it’s kind of I guess like a method that we use in the collecting world it’s it’s not frowned upon so what it is it’s it happens for an option okay so let’s say there’s a

Blake Wesley card that I really really want and I look it up I look up to see like how much it’s worth let’s say it’s worth um $20 and I’m going to just use it example but the auction is H it’s hovering like let’s say at about seven

Or 8 eight doll right so what I will do is I will wait until maybe like the last minute of the auction I will go in there I’ll wait till the time runs down to maybe like about like five seconds and then I’ll put a bit of maybe like $13

And if nobody’s paying attention to it boom you just want it right there and then if it went up to 12 or whatnot I mean sometimes somebody might uh bid a little bit more and be like oh you know lost out on it but if you are lucky

Enough you can get it for $13 so you just got that $20 $ card for $133 you know you sniped it at the last second yeah and I I think what you do with Gotham cards um you know I think you also write for them right you have

Little post about I was yeah I was starting off to but like I said we had to take a little bit of okay of a break like now we we’re slowly coming back um one interesting thing that we started doing is uh on Saturdays at uh 8:00 800m uh we started hosting space

It was just something that we like to do you know have fun with and it was we were we were happy about the onet we got you know so many people came out they were like hey it’s cool that y’all are holding the space and stuff like that

You know they have questions and you’re seeing all these different types of collectors just come out and like hang out with us and just form a group and everybody ask each other questions everybody keeps each other in the know about what’s going on maybe if they’re

Looking for a certain type of card and stuff like that and it really has been fun yeah yeah and you know I usually go to Eric uh Jacob Eric whenever and I have questions you know about the cards and everything and he referred to that article on ken.com sperss about a

Specific WB card and we’ll talk about more about him after the break but you know apparently you know that thing that card broke a record for and I had to Eric had to educate me on this for the color of it the the new like only 32 in

Population so it was super rare and it was H what was it was a panini card I believe right it was it was a is it a panini prism white I believe yeah that’s it yeah Panini prism white yeah exactly so um he’s you definitely want to follow

Of custom rare cards and I I think a lot of those who are not educated in the in the world of trading cards like yourself think oh my God this is a rare wmy card but if you dig deeper you realize they’re custom they’re handdrawn and uh

They go up on eBay and you know people bid on them um pros and cons of that you know what what should Spurs fans be looking out for when they’re buying a wimy Spurs card yeah definitely yeah um yeah you got to be careful out there and you know

I keep do keep preaching it and I’m like when I post something you know like little information to you know the Spurs family and when it has to deal with cards you know I always throw in there like hey be careful be careful if you ever have any questions feel free to

Reach out to me but yeah there there are people out there who make like custom cards and it that just that is what it is it’s a custom card so they can put one of one on there and then put a put a price tag of whatever they want and next

Thing you know you know somebody’s like oh I bought this one of one for you know let’s say a couple of grand or something like that and then when they turn around and they try to turn it in or try to get it a PR they just like yeah it’s not

Worth that much you know what I mean but um yeah you know so yeah you definitely have to be careful with that I mean if it’s something that you absolutely want and if you want want to collect it you know by all means feel free but you know

Just do your research uh before you make a purchase that big you know what I mean and make sure that you know what you’re getting another thing that we always like to say like in the hobby is like ultimately at the end of the day you know it’s it’s

Going to be up to you and as long as you’re having fun with the hobby you know what I mean you can never go wrong but you know just be careful when it comes to like stuff like that know what you’re actually purchasing know what you’re getting into um yeah but those

Cards are out there I know one time um uh just as a joke I uh actually made like a little small card and I put Jeff’s name on I put like one of one and I was just having fun and I sent it to you I think I put Ken on there or

Something like that yeah and I was just like hey look I made my own custom Jeff card or whatever people are actually doing stuff like that and saying that like hey if you want this you’re gonna have to pay me $500 and it’s like yeah

What you know but it does happen yeah so be careful with that what are some uh hot uh wimb CS right now uh either from Panini or from Fanatics or or what had Bowman what what are the hot ones right now yeah I think that that last one that

That Panini prism I believe that that was the the white that you uh yeah you shared with everybody I think that that was I want to say that was probably like the latest product so you have these different kind of variations from that card are happening those are the ones

That are dropping you know they they are going for buku bucks you know what I mean especially the lower ended number number ones um as far as on the jumping to The Fanatic side of the house now um pretty much anything with wy’s Auto on there is

Flying um me myself personally I like uh his the Allen and gter product that uh Fanatics came out with um especially they have a what is that what is the Allen and gter product what is that it it’s just the name of of the the the

Product that came out you know I mean but uh they have actually they have like a certain card like right here I actually have one it’s a I’m try but it’s a little oh I see W like a little wmy mini now they call these Minis and some of them there’s another variation

That comes out where actually has a picture frame around it so you have this little black card moving around inside there and then there’s some that Wy actually did autograph and I’m like whoa those ones look nice yeah that’s just me personally I like them um I have seen a

Couple um I never haven’t owned one but yeah you see those those those on like I said on the fanatic side you see his autograph cards are moving when it comes to the Panini side you just see pretty much like the latest products that you know whatever comes out it’s funny

Everybody just rushes out and they’re like oh I need to have this card and you just see the prices go up and then it kind of like just steadies and goes back down a new product will drop and every everybody just rushes back to the store

And you see it go up and it just keeps going like that and it’s going to keep happening throughout the whole throughout the season yeah one one thing I find interesting too is you know the the combo cards you showed me recently a Fanatics had a Robinson and wimy and

They were both autographed now can you talked about that one that looked pretty cool and it sold out quick yeah so once again now we’re going to jump over to the fanatic side of the house I want everybody to pay uh if y’all leave with one thing from this

Episode remember if we’re talking about an autographed Wy card or if his Auto we’re on the fanatic side of the house if he’s wearing like a Spurs jersey we’re on the Panini side of the house so yes earlier uh they uh Fanatics did come out with a card with um Wy and David

Robinson on there it’s a dual Auto card um I want to say that they’re they they were limited um there wasn’t very many made um but they did they definitely did look cool you had like wemi on the left side and you had like David Robinson on the right side

And if you ever seen David Robinson’s autograph you know it’s a very distinct autograph and he always puts the five at the bottom or something like that you know so it was cool now remember we’re on the fanatic side of the house so if you look at that card

One thing you will notice is they’re not wearing a spur Jersey it’s just like a plain black Jersey because they’re pretty much you know Fanatics they’re more they deal with uh baseball right so one of the things that I said that is possibly could could happen um is if

Fanatics and Panini are able to work something out or you know what I mean like put their weapons down and come to an agreement well just like Jeff said earlier you know Tim Duncan did sign with panini right so can you imagine if now Wy is allowed to go to The Panini

Site yeah it’s possible you could see a dual autograph of Wendy and Tim Duncan card with a Spurs jersey now it sounds like that it’s it sounds like there’s just I guess too much competition going on right now among the companies with panini and Fanatics and

And uh I forget the other one uh but you know sound a lot competition and I guess that’s good or bad for the hobby um it’s it it could be a little bit of both for me it’s it’s more just like a little bit frustrating um because like I said

Earlier the the the Wy cards jumping on to the Panini side of the house the Wy cards where he’s actually wearing his Spurs jersey and stuff like that we have been waiting for a while and those ones are finally started coming out um one of the there the one of the

Products I saw that before it dropped you had like a collector like jump in the comments and he went out there and he left like a little message and he was like what’s the big deal there’s not going to be a wemi Auto in there and I

Was like oh you know what I mean and it’s just like that’s the way some people feel hey it’s the way I feel I understand you know they’re upset they have every right to be upset you know I’m a little bit disappointed myself but like I said if

Mentioned earlier the last time or one of the few times or actually not one of the few times one of the many times Jacob’s been on um we did a live box break now for those who don’t know what a live box break means it’s just well

Jacob had a brand new box of cards and he opened it up and he broke every single packet and um it was such an exciting moment because not only was he doing it with his son but because it was the down to the last pack the last set the last card

And Jacob and his son pulled out a Victor wi bayama Panini uh card I think he’s wearing his French uniform right yeah yeah right right it was so it was so such a great moment that Ken 5 even did a a quick uh segment about it on the

That card um somebody actually reached out to me and was like um hey uh somebody’s asking about your L card and I was like what they’re like yeah like they didn’t reach me directly yeah somebody like went around and tried to do a flank maneuver and uh they were asking like

Hey what do they think it would take to get to get their to get a hold of that card and uh this person my friend he you know actually told that you know who was asking about it he was like Hey you know to my understanding uh they were going

To go ahead and keep that card but um people were definitely asking about it they were interested in it I guess they saw it whether it came on the news or where they saw it getting pulled on locked on Spurs yeah where where is it right now is it with your I’m assuming

It’s with your son right it’s on his bed it’s on his headboard yeah on a stand and everything yeah yeah but it is nice yeah it’s very nice yeah it was an exciting moment uh to you know to see uh Jacob and his son just leap out out of

Their chairs I think your son got it right I mean he was the one who got it no he yeah pack and didn’t realize it was in there right and you saw it right right right right yeah he was going because if you go back and you check it

Out that box it was pretty good siiz box so I remember when we started doing it I was like Jeff this is GNA have to go quick and we look back we’re like ripping them as fast as we could so that way we can get everything so for

Everybody to be able to see and we were just going so fast that you know David was just opening them putting him down opening them putting him down and if you look I just looked up to the side and I saw you all saw my reaction I jumped up

And I was like whoa there it is like and the like the reason why I got so so excited well number one the idea it worked but um when that product dropped they made it known that those Wy cards were going to be you know small print

You know what I mean so they weren’t they were going to be rare you know what I mean and as a matter of fact if some store owners were even paying people because they just wanted to see the cards that’s the biggest thing they wanted to see the card so some owner

Store uh shop owners were actually saying like hey if you open the box here in our store and you pull a wmy we’ll pay you like two or three 00 just for opening it here that’s how much they wanted to just see the card so that’s

Why that’s one of the reasons when we opened ours and when I came across it I jumped up it was like woohoo because I got to get the locked on Spurs yeah you got it we I was like I gotta here check it out here it is y’all you know we did it

This is what everybody’s trying to look for and I was a able to share it with y’all and let y’all see it first exactly yeah it was it was such a great moment one of my one of my top five moments on lockedown Spurs right there was that

Moment with Jacob and his son he pulling that wimy card and just not just your son just saying just not even noticing that he had it just just like oh my God and His the reaction is like oh we busted we didn’t get anything and that

Was the the sentiment and then you saw it and like thank God you saw it because imagine if he threw it away if he just scooted it off to the side that would have been just horrible it’s funny if yo back and look we got like so excited and then both of
