Imo this is not good news for the playoffs. Lineups will shrink and frankly, if our bench was mid like Denver, we wouldn’t even be sniffing the playoffs. Jonathan Isaac is going to need more minutes for us to stand a chance.

I don’t think it’s a secret that Jon Isaac is an elite defender off the bench. He will get more minutes in the playoffs
Our team is still young and I believe our playoff success will mostly depend on our matchup more than anything. IMO the best matchup would be the Pacers or maybe the depleted Knicks. But totally agree JI is the key for this team.
Also I loved the draft pick at the time, but that Chuma +/- really matches the eye test 😬
Everything we have done with Issac this season has been leading to this moment. In the playoffs, there will be nowhere to hide.
Offense wins games, defense wins championships.
I’m very excited for these young men to get a crack at the mountain. Issac most of all.
In a side note, the hate on Gary is ludicrous.. dude plays defense at a high level, can space the floor, and doesn’t dribble the air out of the ball. Most well rounded guard we have.

Magic mirror the rays in a lot of ways. Depth to have a high talent floor but need a higher talent ceiling. Either need franz to step up in a big way or add a piece or two
Isaac and Wagner have been the key when they play well the Magic win

I shared a post a couple weeks ago with a bunch of random stats…
We have the most bench points in the league and our bench gets the most FT attempts in the league. Now our FT% is still a HUGE issue…
This is mostly a non issue. JI is arguably the best defender in the league, so when you have him coming off the bench of course his plus minus is going to be crazy good.
Our starting unit is also so bad bc we don’t have a PG. Paolo and Franz are not the best ball handlers and shouldn’t have to be initiating every offensive possession. If we can get a good pg that can handle the ball and shoot the three, things will look a lot better.
Our bench has kicked ass against other benches, but in the playoffs, that won’t be as much of an advantage when opposing teams tighten up their rosters and starters are playing more minutes. Our boys are going to have to step it up.
