The Los Angeles Lakers Are In BIG Trouble

The Los Angeles Lakers Are In BIG Trouble

Last question how long you expect to continue playing in the NBA LeBron not very long um uh not very long the Los Angeles Lakers have been cruising away from the warriors with the ninth seed in hand with the sixth and seventh seed in sight hard to argue

Against the 10 and five record in their last 15 games or is it just a facade can the Lakers actually compete in the playoffs this season and is it possible they skip the play in all together hey what’s happening everyone this is Swiss culture this has been a fiercely competitive Western Conference Roundup

With playin and playoff bound team switching places on a nightly basis one night the Lakers are competing against the Warriors for the ninth seed and a few games later they might have a shot at making it to the sixth which would lead to them avoiding the playe all

Together with just a handful of games remaining however it’s more likely they land somewhere between the seventh and Ninth spots only requiring that they Advance a game or two in in order to overtake the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings who are in a heated battle over

The seventh spot both teams have a more difficult schedule ahead which gives the Lakers a much easier path this would lead to a showdown for elimination between the Lakers and Kings for the Post playay in sth seed This spells bad news for the Lakers stick around to find

Out why just don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to switch culture for the most analytical and entertaining NBA content on the planet now now get ready you’re about to [Applause] Get the Lakers have had a very interesting season after winning the inseason tournament back in December against the Indiana Pacers and getting that inaugural trophy things took a turn for the worst after winning four straight games eliminating the Rockets Suns and Pelicans to make it to the

Tournament finals the Lakers went 3 and 10 over the course of their next 13 games between January 5th and the trade deadline just a little over a month later they improved by going 10 and seven in that span while Fielding a few injuries and missing players this led to

Speculation on the team in a number of areas the first one has to do with the coach darham who served in multiple coaching roles prior to the Lakers even going as far as helping the Milwaukee Bucks to win a championship next to Mike buen holer as his assistant had taken a

Lot of the fans ey online accusing the coach of being passive and unable to make the necessary adjustments not too dissimilar to the Warriors who are in much the same position as the Lakers with Steve Kerr many distrust his ability to make decisions in the clutch with LeBron at one point running a

Completely different play than what ham had drawn up we had switching built in vers Kawai and vers James and whatever the case may be and vetoed it in the in the second half even Austin Rees would ignore ham at times indicating a fracture between the head coach and

Players what many fail to understand however is that trying to manage a roster with a superstar who has legendary status in the league is not exactly the simplest job in the world when you’re coaching LeBron James it isn’t your job to coach LeBron James or

To run your system your job is to make sure you assimilate The Supporting Cast around a player who’s proven that he can get to the finals and win multiple championships I mean LeBron can still lead a team to an NBA championship right while there’s plenty of fault to

Place on darham he’s not the sole person responsible for everything that’s happened with the Lakers that stretch of game after the inseason tournament not only led to focus on ham but to the players as well D’Angelo Russell was expected to fit in a back court with the Lakers prize possession in Austin Reed

As a point guard while alongside an all-time great player in LeBron James whose game revolves around dominating the ball making him an off ball guard a top 10 player in Anthony Davis and a highlevel role player/ defender in Jared Vanderbilt while the fit with v isn’t a

Problem and maybe not even Reeves or Davis it was a problem fitting alongside LeBron James now hear me out LeBron is a point forward and as the best player on the Lakers roster on most nights the team needs him to have the ball in his hands this puts D’Angelo Russell a point

Guard in the difficult position of having to slide over to being a two guard playing off ball while it may seem simple that just isn’t the case an off ball catch and shoot player has developed those skills to move without the ball at an elite level DLo now has

To play out of position on many possessions in order to give LeBron his touches while he’s recently shown he can manage the task the problem is twofold in that not only do you have to give up the ball you’re also having to go against your trained point guard

Instinct and instead of being the primary distributor you now have to focus on the one guy getting his or you might get into some hot water in the locker room D’Angelo Russell didn’t he snitch on Kobe on Swaggy P generational snitch right here you know he going to

Make it his business to snitch on somebody this causes dolo to over defer to his teammate therefore giving you a less productive player Russell has averaged 18 points and six assists over the course of his career for the first half of the Season that number dropped

To 16- six as a 28-year old compare that to his 33 game stretch with the Warriors where he played on ball next to Steph Curry where a 24-year-old DLo put up 23.6 points and six assist per game this really hurt a stock with the Lakers and led to their next move rumors began

Circulating of the Lakers targeting Deonte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks the Hawks had a losing record in the Eastern Conference and their star player Tre young was unable to figure things out with Murray his backourt teammate the athletic even confirmed that the Lakers made an offer as the situation in ATL

Did not seem to be getting any better the offer D’Angelo Russell the Lakers 2023 17th overall pick Jaylen Hood chafino a 2029 first round pick and other draft compensation despite haggling the Hawks were not impressed with the offer they coveted Austin Reeves but the Lakers were not

Interested in moving him which led to a stalemate between the two teams even though the trade fell through the process sparked something for Russell like any player who realizes that they could be traded at any time does he took his career into his own hands and instead of deferring to James decided to

Play alongside him the result 20 points per game and 6 and 1 half assists a night we saw the same thing happen with dejonte Murray and we saw it happen with Jaylen green once these players realize that the team needs them to be themselves in order to win it’s a whole

Different ball game but is that enough for the Lakers to make noise in the playoffs not quite you see there is one last problem a very big problem even if you threw everything else out that I just said in case anyone hasn’t noticed LeBron James just isn’t the same player

Anymore at 39 years old there is the expectation that a player will see some level of decline watching the stats alone won’t tell you everything that’s changed as a matter of fact there isn’t much evidence that that he’s had any consistent reduction in his onc court production by the stat sheets if

Anything he’s putting up even better numbers while his overall points per game are down compared to the last two years so are the number of shots he taking however LeBron James is shooting better from three his effective field goal percentage is around the same his assists and rebounds still hover around

Seven or eight per game and he’s shown no loss of athleticism look at any Lakers game however and focus on the way LeBron has been playing and you’ll see it for yourself last question how long you expect continue playing in the NBA LeBron n out of 10 at your age and with

Your accomplishments this is still like a head for a lot of people yeah U not very long not very long um I’m on the other side obviously at a hill so I’m not going to play another 21 years that’s the damn sure but uh not very

Long um I don’t know what when that door would Clos as far as my when I retire but I don’t have much time though thanks I there it is you heard it from the man himself father time is creeping up and he already knows while he’s able to

Maintain his ability on the offensive end LeBron is unable to give the same level of intensity on defense as he once did it’s tough keeping up with the modern pace of the game and considering his age it’s no surprise that he takes possessions off defensively whether it’s

Taking time to get back up the floor after a failed play on the off defensive end or simply not having the lateral speed to guard other young players it all factors into the realization that unless you cover up for the current weaknesses in LeBron’s game that have

Developed as a result of him getting older winning championships aren’t going to get any easier now it’s true that Vanderbilt adds significantly to this roster’s capability and hides James defensive deficiencies but with almost 30 Miss games and Counting it’s uncertain if he’ll be back in time to

Ramp up for the playoffs with all the added load put on LeBron James on both ends of the floor there might not be enough left to go on a deep playoff run he’s been taking time off every 5 to seven games at a regular season intensity what happens after a seven

Game series in the first round after two elimination games to even make the playoffs to begin with it is very likely the Lakers will end up facing the kings in the elimination round for first bout and they have yet to beat the kings in any regular season game and with Anthony

Davis having lost the last seven matches UPS to deont sabonis it is unlikely that the Lakers will be able to take the Kings down in an elimination game if they do manage to beat the Kings they face Golden State or the Phoenix Suns depending on how things shape up right

Before the playoffs that said things aren’t looking great for LeBron and to top it off this season will be the most regular season games he’s played since 2018 when he played all 82 His Highest since then was 67 and he’ll surpass that in the next game is LeBron James capable

Of leading the Lakers to a postseason birth despite what we’re seeing is Vanderbilt returning enough to put the Lakers in position to make a playoff run post your thoughts in the comments below but before that don’t forget to like the video subscribe to the channel and turn

  1. If Warriors got a Lakers whistle, and Steph got a LeBalco whistle, Warriors would be a top 4 seed and Steph would average Luka-like numbers. 😤😤

  2. Over the past two seasons, Lakers have a +1017 FT differential (as of couple of games ago). First in the league.

That's MORE THAN THE NEXT THREE TEAMS COMBINED.

Are we really supposed to accept the NBA DOESN'T rig games in Lakers favor??

To quote darko: "It's a complete crap!" 😤😤😤😤

  3. Another great video, Swish!

Good overview of their season and analysis of the current situation! 👍👏🙏🙏

  4. Swish I'm disappointed with your analogy of LeBron James, because obviously you haven't been watching him on a consistent basis, so allow me to give you some (true) feedback on him. First and foremost, LeBron blatantly stopped playing defense his last season with the Cavaliers. I watched him literally chew out teammates for not guarding his man while he literally ran away from his man to play zone. Secondly, you stated that his athleticism hasn't dropped off and that's false, his elevation dropped off dramatically hist first season with the Lakers. I've watched slow white guys coming off the bench blocking his shot because he realized he could no longer beat his man off the dribble without some form of a screen.
He's flat out not coachable because he's never had to humble himself throughout his professional career coming out of high school. He checks himself in games without the coaches consent, as I use to watch Mike Brown literally throw his hands in the air in disgust because he went against the coaches wishes of staying on the bench. And because your such a stat whore Swish, allow me to give you this stat. Remember the season he averaged 30 pts per game with the Lakers? That team was an absolute horrible team and LeBron would inject himself in the game in garbage time in many of those games in order to pad his stats in efforts to catch Kareem Abdul Jabbar. The guy has been quietly cheating the game for years and nobody has said anything. Lakers fans use to boo him for stat padding on many nights. Just because he can still dunk doesn't mean he's still very athletic. His foot speed is as slow as Kevon Looney, but it goes unnoticed because he a decent ball handler. He moves his feet just as slow as any big man you can name in the NBA, just watch how he slides on defense and how he fails to jump to contest shots. The media overhypes LeBron because he's nothing more than a cash machine for the NBA. So when the machine is behind you, you can't lose.

  5. Im a steph boy but lebron is playing just fine honestly. Cant expect him to play hard every regular season anymore
