[Bleacher Report] The buzz in NBA circles suggests that barring a run to the NBA Finals, Mitchell will decline an extension and look elsewhere, and the Cavaliers are more likely than not to move him well before he can leave outright as a free agent

He never wanted to be there.

He was professional and served his contract but he never wanted to live in Cleveland.

Wish we had a more appealing market to build a nice team around. We’ve been good the last two years, just not over the top.

Cavs should just draft Bronny so they can also get Bron.

Please. CJ plus literally all of our picks. All of them, I don’t care

Throw in Dyson too fuck it

Seriously whatever it takes to get rid of cj.

i mean, he was never going to stay to begin with but the least the Cavs could’ve done was get a real coach

  6. So random question. Let’s say hypothetically Mitchell grows up a Celtics fan, gets into the NBA and tells absolutely nobody – makes his family never say anything about it. It’s not his objective to play for the Celtics – but for sure he won’t play for the Lakers.

The Cavs say they wanna trade him for anything, and he’s going to the Lakers if he tells them he will sign a deal with them. He says sure, gets traded, then doesn’t sign an extension with them and leaves. Is there any repercussion for him? (and in this scenario he doesn’t sign an extension with the Cavs before getting traded, the Lakers take his word)

The guy takes 22 shots a game in the playoffs on 50.3 eFG%. He shot 28.9% from 3 last playoffs, and 20.8% the playoffs before that. No real contender can have their #1 option taking that many shots on such poor efficiency. His teams have been between the 1 and 6 seed for his whole career, but he’s only been out of the first round twice. I’m not sure what the best situation is for him.

Will the Cavs trade to him an eastern conference team is the question. Because basically every team he’s ever been connected to in trade or FA talks has been eastern conference teams

Cavs deserve all the heat for Mitchell that the wolves got for Gobert

We’ve made no moves in years for this one trick

“Barring a run to the NBA Finals”

    So he gone

  12. reason4rage

Could we interest you in a slightly used Tobias Harris?

  13. I know it’s probably lifestyle reasons for him wanting to leave, but he is not going to find anywhere else in the league where the on the court situation is more attractive to him.

  14. seceipseseer

I hope he like them big ol women down in San Antonio

  15. genericusernamepls

They should just keep him and hope for the best

  16. I mean, if Mobley makes the jump, and Garland goes back to all star form, you’ve got a helluva team. I haven’t even mentioned Jarrett Allen and whatever you may get for Mitchell in a trade

  17. ApoliticalAth3ist

I don’t think the Cavs should be that upset about the fact that he clearly wants to leave

‘Buzz’ around the league. Buzz, always a very reliable source.

  19. BlackJediSword

I’d love to have him but we can’t sacrifice our depth for him.

Similarly, I’m refusing to sign with the Cavs if they don’t make the NBA Finals this year.

After all, Mitchell and I have the exact same odds of making the Finals in 2024.

  21. ChiefHunter1

They should hire a new coach, improve the roster however they can for next season, and have him play out his contract.

  22. GlueGuy00

I’m guessing it’s Miami and NY teams that are at the top of his list

  23. DevinBookersKobes

Matt Ishbia gonna trade 10 1sts for him and bankrupt the suns on the 15th apron in a cocaine fueled rage just to stick it to Dan.
