Nuggets are NOT "elite" this year.
I hate to be a ney-sayer, but that's just not an accurate depiction of Nuggets this season.
Check Nuggets record against >500-600 teams. That should be enough.
Check the Nuggets' bench rating – it's the WORST in NBA.
So, I hate to say it – No. Nuggets are not "elite" this season.
Nuggets are significantly weaker than last season.
BB and JG were not replaced. Two HOLES were created in the roster by Nuggets FO inactivity.
Nuggets, at this point, have only 6 (six) play-off worthy players on their roster:
1. Jokic, 2. AG, 3. MPJ, 4. KCP, 5. Jamal*, 6. CB.
* Jamal is unavailable and out of shape, with about only 10 good games this season – he's not something Nuggets can fully rely on.
Luckily, Jokic is having another historic season and is, again, carrying this team to playoffs at 1-3 seed.
Unfortunately – Jokic's performance is obfuscating/hiding the Nuggets deficiencies and issues.
If there is a purpose to "media" – it's in telling the truth and keeping everyone honest.
Nuggets "media" is not doing that.
It's, for the good part, understandable – let's look at the "nuggets media" – it's all amateurs with youtube account and a usable microphone and camera, and often – flimsy internet connection.
That's pretty much it.
Aspiring 'analysts'… Amateurs and unemployed HS graduates.
Some know a bit about basketball – but it's mostly "fan-level" knowledge.
So, NO. Nuggets are far from being "elite" and are, at this point, much weaker than last season.
That's the truth and the bottom line.
