Should only not count towards your record if you lose, but it would be nice for the winner to have that half game bump.

  2. GutsTheSwordsman

the winner of the IST should have a +1 to their record absolutely.

  3. Doesn’t even need to be a +1 to the record, just have it break any tiebreaker, which is already something the NBA has supposedly talked about.

  4. motorboat_mcgee

Sucks, but everyone knew the rules going into it

  5. BigBitcoinBaller

Doesn’t need to be a +1 in win column. Just count it as a super tie breaker.

  6. myelrecsy

Should have a ‘Get-out-of-Tiebreaker’ trump card if you will.

  7. kingofthezootopia

Team wins is for the fans. Players already got what they really play the game for—$$$.

  8. NaderNation84

Agreed it should count for the winner like obviously we won this year so we want it but it should going forward for all winners to make it more important

  9. just_one_random_guy

Well yeah because the integrated all the other games into the actual season, the IST game just doesn’t work out the same

  10. davensdad

Fuck Silver. Dumbass. This should have been the real tiebreaker

  11. Vexing_Pie

Hopefully it’s the universal tiebreaker next season.

  12. Monsterjs2609

So you saying his 40 20 game don’t count? Fuck that!!!

  13. yhpargotohpts

Thing is, I love the IST. It’s a great motivator and there should be SOMETHING over the entirety of the actual season it counts for. But I’m not sure what/how. When I think of club football, Manchester United won the FA Cup but it doesn’t mean anything for Premier League standings 🤷🏿‍♂️

  14. Tall_Succotash

I’m gonna be so pissed for the future of the IST if they count the final game and we just so happened to be the first team to miss out on that perk lol

  15. Vegasguy3124

We can’t move the goal post. We all knew going in to Vegas that it wasn’t going to count.

  16. even if it’s not counted, at least make it a deciding factor for tiebreaker..

  17. b1rdganggg

I don’t think they care after getting paid 500k. For the guys that don’t make much that’s half of a year of salary.

  18. Spaghettibeach

they should acknowledge it on the record tbh, that’s fantastic incentive to win more than anything. That W takes away a scheduled loss for any team

  19. OhNoMoMan

IST is early enough in the season that they should just count it and then the future match up between the two finalists can just be a day off.

  20. Even before we played the IST I thought the final game should count as a bonus to whoever won while excluding player stats or just counting the final in its own category along with the playing games.

  21. high-on-avocado

Tell me what’s the point of IST again?

  22. discussionandrespect

And it was tougher than 99 percent of regular season games

  23. Background_Nature_32

Pointless tournament besides getting the younger guys paid lol they need to add more of a incentive that impacts the regular season next year

  24. Ok_Pie_5816

Oh, I have so many thoughts! Like, why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?

  25. LudwigNasche

Rules are rules, no reason to complain about that, after all we were the first IST champions and at the end of the season we are going to be the first team to win 18 NBA titles.

  26. Only issue is if our win counted, the pacers loss should count as well which wouldn’t make sense. Also I’m pretty sure they don’t want players to get additional stats from an extra game.

What they should do is let the winner win all tiebreakers

  27. immortalalchemist

IST champion should be able to swap an L for a W.

  28. Just add +1 in the finals so we only need 3 games to win the championship

  29. LumenYeah

Hey, we got a cute banner, what more do you want.

  30. bebopblues

I have an idea. They should’ve counted the IST game and cancelled one of the games versus Indiana that were scheduled later.

Such a simple solution, it’s ridiculous that they didn’t think of that.

  31. Brilliant_Inspector6

I think both teams in the IST final should be given the tie-breaker over other teams in their respective conferences in recognition of the extra game they played.

  32. UCanDoNEthing4_30sec

Yeah I don’t get why it’s not counted as an actual game. It’s a game you play during the season. Unless you want it to be the shit show that’s the all-star game now

Couldn’t it just be like a replacement of a game the 2 would have had anyway? It’s pretty early in the season anyway, you are bound to play a game again or at least make sure the championship game always has teams where they will have at least one more game left in the season. And if they have 2 or more games between each other left on the schedule the game that gets replaced is when the losing team is at home.

I don’t think though this is a conversation for the current season obviously since everyone knew the situation before the season began.

  33. SolubleAcrobat

The simple solution was to not compete in the IST final. If it was going to make our team so exhausted that they would shit the bed so hard in December, then what was the point.

We don’t go hard in preseason games because that would be dumb. It’s a question of priorities.

  34. lol you poor things, you are so persecuted. 🙄

  35. And how many times did the lakers played b2b? This is so unfair load-wise.

  36. misterrunon

Winner of IST should get that win added to their column for free. It should be the prize of the whole event.

  37. bigbadbernard

actually a good idea would be to swap one of our Indy losses with this win
