  1. Donovan Mitchell is the most losing kind of player in the league. I’d rather us take Garland over Mitchell. I wouldnt even want mitchell in free agency. His style of play doesn’t win games. And if we make a big time trade in the off season where we trade 3-4 picks away (not saying we should, but IF) then that big time trade should always be trae young.

Say what you want about Trae not being a “winning player”, but I’m taking the guy that led his mediocre team to the conference finals any day over the dude that gets well-structured teams set up around him (twice now) and still can’t win.

Saw this on the NBA sub. Idk if it’s just them being salty but I’ve seen quite a few Cleveland fans bemoan his lack of playoff production/success. Many said they don’t see him accepting the Pippin role on a contender.

  3. Idk why we would go after him rather than Trae who’s better player and fit

  4. HarryBirdGetsBuckets

Zero chance we go after him and as others have said it would be better to get a guy who complements wemby more like Trae or garland

  5. I don’t think it’s true because there none of the usual NBA reporters has said it and I also think it’d be a bad fit. We’ve already seen him flame out next to an all time great defender with Golbert and I don’t think he’s ready to be the second option on a championship level team, both in his play and what his contract would need to be.

  6. i really think that having a competent wing is more urgent than a new pg. Tre has been REALLY solid for a while now.

Throwing a bunch of assets at a guy who’s a UFA soon and has been rumoured to want to be in a big market (NY)…Great idea.

As my own rule of thumbs, when someone says they have Intel on the Spurs, take it with a big pile of salt. The Spurs are as tight lips as it can get in terms of their operation. If the national media with countless sources couldn’t get the info, there is no way these random Twitter users can. People just say random shits for engagement farming.

  9. These guys are just making assumptions, they are aggregators. The only “real evidence” I have seen is Windhorst in his podcast making some implications about it. He didn’t want to say it out right so he might have a source or he might be making an educated guess

Dudes on this sub think we are too good for Trae young and Lebron James.

I’d love to see the reception of Donovan Mitchell.

Probably not going to happen but yeah, not really my first choice too. He’s shown his limit with a big guy DPOY. Of course Gobert is not Victor but still, he’s shown his limits when talking about giving him the ball for easy buckets. That’s just something he can’t do. Tbh Vassell’s connection to Vic is already better than the Mitchell Gobert ever was

We gotta stop giving click-bait twitter accounts this much attention

  13. FWIW, I don’t think this is actually realistic, but I’m glad we’re in the hunt. Everything rumor wise has been leaning towards NY or Miami. He’s an elite guard, and could provide some top tier shot creation, but I just don’t buy that he wants to be in the west.

  14. no… spurs don’t go with that route…. donovan Mitchell is just an overrated player… please dont fall for bait like that one

  15. nokarmawhore

I trust windy more than whoever this guy is

I mean I think the spurs are going to be active this offseason. But they aren’t going to leak their plans. This is just baseless speculation.

But he will be available so you can add him to the list of available players that the spurs could take a look at. If I’m the spurs in not really going that hard after him I would offer a couple first rounders but the shitty ones.
One of the Atalanta guards are going to be available as well and it might not be true. I’d be interested in Murray because he’s cheaper and would cost less to acquire. I think he’s matured a lot and knows the system and is a better defender than Trae.

I would call Utah about marrkanen and see if they is any interest there. But ainge will ask for a lot and he’s probably not available.

Young would be better. Better contract, longer term, comments like he wants to play with Wemby, grew up liking spurs and has 4 years left vs 1 for Mitchell. And imo Trae is better passer. Mitchell hasn’t proven as much jn playoffs either imo like how Young shut down MSG

  18. Dizzy_Somewhere_8434

All 💩 💩 💩 We need other big man to help Wemby and natural PG, Donavan don’t fit in SA

  19. We will be linked with every PG in the league given Wemby’s rapid development and a resurgent Vassell, Sochan (maybe that’s a reach).

But then we end up playing Wesley, Malakai, Mamu, Bassey and Collins each game when we’re up by 2 points with 1min left in the 4th.
