  1. Time to see what the other guys can do. Kessler actually played pretty good tonight. Brown should have kept him in instead of going back to Barnes

  2. Today, Monk played less than 2 minutes and the Kings should have won so lets not mail in the season. Barnes has the worse net rating of any starters at -2.8 so that is a source where the kings need to focus on improving. You can see today when barnes plays well as in the first quarter the kings are fine. Trey Lyles injury cannot be undersrated as he has a +5.8 rating, the one guy with a positive rating in each month this season. With him, you have a punchers chance in the 2nd unit. Ellis' +6.3 rating is actually an upgrade in the starting lineup so the starters which they are all relatively young need to cover for some of those monk minutes…remember monk hasnt been playing well. Hopefully monk is back for the playin or a first round series. Right now, they need to hold the 8th spot so they at least have two shots at getting in. Low expectations may make the team actually play better.

  3. Anything can happen. Look what Miami did last year. But also Iā€™m nit setting any expectations. I honestly do think although Monk out can hurt our seeding, injuries give other guys a chance to develop. Kessler for example, give him more minutes. Also this is adversity we are facing, this is good for us, it puts more pressure on us and gives us much needed experience in tough, high pressure games. There is more pressure on everyone with our injuries and historically weā€™ve struggled in those situations. This is a good chance to gain experience to be more ready in a high pressure playoff atmosphere. Gotta finish the regular season strong though of course, and hope we get Monk back by playoff time.

  4. I blame all this on Monte McNair for not making an impact move for the better of the kings for the past 2 sessions where everyone else in the West has for the past 2 sessions…I said the kings will regret and suffer the consequences and that's what's happening right now… kings will be lucky to make the play in .. guess what the Lakers are probably going to pass the kings and make the playoffs.

  5. This is where all the winnable games come back to bite us because instead of being locked into to the top 6 and guaranteed a full series all those bad losses mean weā€™ll be in a play in scenario with no Malik.

  6. I think Monkā€™s knee will be ready for the playoffs, and I still believe a round 1 victory is in our grasp. The West is playing good basketball right now, but I believe in these guys

  7. Nothing changes. However, Keon will get an opportunity to see extended minutes. The kings will be able to see if Keon is legit and part of the future

  8. I really hope Iā€™m wrong – but tonight felt like the first domino to fall in a series of events that will include a disappointing end to the season along with a potentially disastrous off-season. (If Monk walks) Meditating positive vibes for Monk for both the present and the future! šŸ§˜

  9. I was at Disneyland with my family when this all went down. Luckily, I saw the results at the end of the day. Iā€™m trying to find the silver lining, but like Mo Iā€™m sick to my stomach. Itā€™s been an inconsistent year and the injury bug unfortunately hit us late. Letā€™s finish strong, I want McNair to retool this group to make them better and look forward to next year.

  10. Monk ainā€™t sacrificing his free agency on a play-in team.Itā€™s business, his season is over and we shouldnā€™t expect otherwise.

  11. Kings fans should prepare themselves to move on from Malik. This injury will show him how quick things can change, he will take the highest paying contract for the security of his future. Do not feel too down, this will open Monteā€™s bag for a massive trade for Zach LaVine and we will finally see the backcourt that Vlade envisioned in 2018.

  12. There is a difference between a grade 1 tear and a grade 1 sprain. Sprains usually doesnā€™t have structural damage. Tears have damage.
