The tough thing is AD is counted on to be an offensive force and put up 25 a night, while Gobert does nothing on offense. If AD played nothing but defense, there is no doubt he is better than Gobert, but we need AD to do a lot more than just anchor the defense (also, he is a great offensive player, unlike Gobert, who is more of a good role-player/defensive specialist).

AD has a better claim than Gobert for DPOY lately, but tbh when it comes to contesting shots and post ups, Gobert had KAT Naz Reid and other guys while AD didn’t have that, so Gobert guarded those less than AD.
