Darko on McDaniels: “I am still hopeful that he can figure it out & help us. I think he’s a very talented basketball player. He just needs to find that niche on the court… I think he’s going to have a great summer. I think next year he’s going to be in the rotation & help us”

The existential horror I felt when I read this…

    The tank rolls on

Yall thought it was a one and done tank season? Hell nah, McDaniels 48 mpg season being cooked up

  3. Oozeinator

Prepping to keep next years pick begins now 😂

  4. Darko can say wtv he wants now. but there won’t be enough playing time for McDaniels barring any injuries.

Let’s say we keep everyone (you can replace Gary/Brown by some other free agent)

starters: IQ, Gary, RJ, Scottie, Poeltl

Bench: Gradey, Brown, Ochai, Olynyk, raptors 1st round pick, Pacers 1st round pick, Raptors 2nd round pick

then you have Nwora and McDaniels

That’s 12 players before Nwora and McDaniels

What else is Ted Lasso going to say?

  6. Off course he will. We are tanking next year too.

Nah this pisses me off. Darko should have said “we expected more from him”. He’s brought quite literally nothing.

Aside from his off court issues, he’s a terrible player to watch. Sloppy mistakes, constant turnovers, and then hangs his head everytime, including on missed baskets and rebounds, and doesn’t get back on D.

His younger brother is obviously a better player but seriously- why can’t you be like your brother? They’re the same size and same DNA, but he won’t even put in 50% of the effort his brother does on D. I don’t think it’s an ability thing I just don’t think this dude likes basketball.

We should be giving contracts to those that earn it and Darko shouldn’t be babying him at this point.

  8. I know yall disagree with that. But what’s wrong with a coach being supportive of his player and encouraging him to work hard in the summer. Like what’s the downside? Would you rather have doc rivers so he could throw him and everyone else under the bus?

  9. Bobby_Webster

y’all he’s obviously just saying this stuff to show support for one of his players. you really believe Darko’s already decided on a rotation for next season? get real lol

He said the same thing about Flynn and Flynn was gone by the deadline. I don’t see McDaniels with the roster next season and if he does stick around it will be in a DNP-CD role

    Yeah, help us tank!

Kidding aside, McDaniels is in the league for a reason while others aren’t. It’s a dream for most and I wouldn’t want to crap on it. I do wish him success and that he does find the right role to play for our team. I mean he was signed for a reason, the FO saw something in him that pushed them to sign him. So I do hope it works out for him.

  12. Find someone who believes in you like Darko believes in McDaniels

What kinda bugs me is that I feel like the coach should suggest what that niche is. Leaving it up to McDaniels who is floundering is maybe not a great strategy. Even if he’s getting transition buckets and then getting back on defense like old Pascal, at least you’re giving him a blueprint of what to do.

  14. He’s ass and does nothing but I don’t get why people act like he’s the problem for our team. He’s like the 10th man lol
