Recently, the NBA media have been campaigning that if the Spurs won't make it to the playoffs next season, Wemby will not sign his Rookie Contract extension and will ask for a Trade.
Those in the NBA media want Wemby to be in a "BIG MARKET" Team instead of the Spurs.
Whether Wemby wins the DPOY, the next season will be a test of his dignity and integrity.
Will he be like The Coward LeBron James who betrayed his home team and slithered his way to South Beach and assembled a Super Team just to desperately win a couple of rings?
Or Wemby will take the path of GOAT Jordan who gave his best carrying his Team until it got better resulting to a Dynasty.

Actually, even Team defense numbers also serve to support his case for DPOY⌠So no matter what you choose to base your judgement (individual or team) heâs the best at it. The only thing that hurts his case are Spurs standings⌠but he can only be accountable for the time he spends on the floor. So his +/- should then be looked at and convince even the most scepticalsâŚ
Saying he canât be DPOY because heâs on a losing team is like saying the Scoring Champion has to be the guy with the most points on the team with the best record!
The wolves literally have three other top 15 defenders in the league. Spurs become by far worst defensive team in the league when wemby is on the bench and he singlehandedly make them a top defense when on the court. His impact is just so much greater than Gobert. It really shouldnât even be a debate Wemby definitely DPOY.

It took the entire panel to corner him into answering that question, which he immediately attempted to disqualify by adding, at 7'5" thats what he should be doing and that only Bol Bol's laziness prevents him from doing the same.
Most Blocks per game in NBA history. Only centre besides Joker in top 20 steals. Only centre besides Joker in top 10 deflections. Best at disturbing 3pt attempts. Every game you can see a player drive and then turn around when they see Wemby. His presence is so intimidating, and most of his blocks start a fast break, which he often finishes with a dunk. Defensive Player Of The Year!
