No interest even if it was $25. These balls are damn near silent. The bounce sound is just part of playing basketball. Plus, Wilson balls are trash. The NBA should go back to the vastly superior Spalding.
It was printed with an SLS (Selective laser sintering) 3D printer. It rolls a layer TPU plastic powder onto a heated build plate and then a laser sinters the plastic powder into hardened plastic, the process then repeats layer by layer until you have your part. The reason why it can bounce without air is because TPU is very ductile. When designed at the right thickness you can make it rigid enough to perfectly match the characteristics of a basketball. The cool thing about SLS is that the unsintered powder around the part acts as a support material so you can achieve all kinds of cool geometries, plus all the unsintered powder around the part can be reused for future prints. The only issue with this design is that there will be loads of βdeadβ space inside the ball which couldβve otherwise been used for more parts.Technically the most efficient way of printing would be to print the ball in two halves and fit them within each other so you can print loads at a time. 3D printings awesome! 2500 is cheap for an innovative basketball they shouldve did a few more to compensate for the time spent but still a nice idea wish i could buy one right now lmao

Iβve used this ball at the allstar weekend and it was so slick I couldnβt even palm the ball
Seems kinda unnecessary

We bought one and shot it with a shotgun
So im gonna go buy my ball for $40 and have fun with that.
Wow they took notes from the chips companis
The temu ball lol
Nobody gonna buy this expensive ass basketball, for what, when you can just buy the regular basketball for 30 dollars π π π ππ
Is no one talking about the fact that the ball is waaay lighter than a regular one, thus making it forever unusable for official basketball?
I wouldn't buy it unless it becomes the standard. Why would I mess up my muscle memory?
This is the most NBA thing ever.

Until hair and gunk gets stuck in the ball
Yeah, i understand why they expected who the buyer are π’
How long until I can get them at Walmart for $30?
About halfway through the clip, when he holds the ball close to the camera, you can see that the ball is already cracking near the Wilson logo.
Why don't they just put leather over top so it at least looks and feels like a normal ball? Or would that just not work?
Leak the files for the printers lol
Purpose of this creation was what?
i could buy 3d printer and the exact material and print 100 of them
if you sit on it, will it warp?
The reason they had to make it so expensive: Corporate Greed
Howβs the durability of this 2500 dollar basketball?
Let's just wait until the Chinese get their hands on one of these. It would be so much cheaper ππ
Nah that price is crazy for a ball
I have often said to myself that the biggest problem with basketball is the basketballs.
it's pointless because of air resistance, a ball full of holes like this will travel very differently in the air
So you're paying more money for less ball… got it
That whole video sounded sus
using that ball will rub your finger prints of
Stupid rich people will buy this
My classmate bought one
2500 is crazy for some plastic 3d printed.
I would still buy one
That dont justify the 2500$
Wilson: "if they pay $4,000+ for shoes, they would definitely pay $2500 for a ball"
This video is like "it will cost $2500 because they were really expensive to make!" Yeah. Duh. That's how business works.

Why don't they sell them to schools cheaply in big bulk bullshit πthen people would buy you make more money that way
For that price buy a 3d printer for 1k and the filament for $20 then make your own
That black ball is cracked bro…
do not buy that ball it is not good for your fingertips!
