[Clark] 48 wins got you the 3 seed in the West last year. 48 wins probably means you’re a play-in team this year.

Can someone please go fix the East. The East being awful is the issue here. The top 10 of the west has like 60-70% winrate vs the East.

Part of the reason is that this year there are more REALLY bad teams. Last year there were only three teams at 25 wins or less. This year there are six teams with 25 wins or less, and the Grizzlies aren’t much better, with 27. That is a lot more wins to go around for everyone else.

the top 10 teams in the west this season have an average of 4.5 more wins than the top 10 teams in the west last season, and there are still a couple games to go, so I’d expect that to end above +5.5.

A few of those wins have come because the west has one more really bad team that other teams are beating up on (the injury-and-suspension-riddled Grizz.) Most of them are because the bottom of the east is so much worse and the west is capitalizing, and a little is because some of the top east teams from last season have underperformed.

Guys. I think we definitely need about a 1000 more posts from fans of West teams talking about how the East sucks. We certainly haven’t gotten the point. I don’t remember people shitting so much on the West last year when they were the side with more impactful injuries. So why is there so many posts on the East being bad? I’m sure the Bulls would love to be in the West though cuz they have a better record against the West. Imagine going 14-17 to the Bulls as a conference smh. Also, don’t the TWolves do worse against the East?

Adam Silver really needs to collpase the conference / divisions and make the game scheduling even

That way even the casual fans can see how much better the West is than the east

It happens sometimes, it’s called competitive balance.

  7. Next year Grizzlies will be back and Spurs will be better it will be even more competitive

Pretty nuts. And a kick in the nuts on top.

Seems more balanced this year. Probably even more next year.

To be fair like the entire West was hurt last year except the Kings and this year its reversed for the most part.

Shit would have been even more fucked this year if Ja hadn’t been out all year

Flashback to 2008 NBA Playoffs where 50 wins netted you the 8th seed in the Western Conference. 48 win Warriors did not even make the playoffs that season.

The East/West narrative isn’t what it used to be.

Before Philly lost JoJo I had the East in complete parity with the West. Outside of the Nuggets and low seeded Lakers (due to Bron and AD’s potential to elevate) the Celtics and healthy 76ers were giving the entire conference the beats in a series.

Grizzlies being injured screwed everything up and passed around more wins

Too many bad teams like Spurs, Detroit, Raptors, Wizards you can just get free wins …
